I cant remember the last time I was out. Finally finished up combining but the little bit of time I have had I've been bow hunting. I know a lot of guys are complaining about all the small water being froze up already but I haven't scouted for so long I'm not sure. If that's the case, my season is probably pretty well over before it started.

I’m right there with ya. Between work and family stuff it’s been tough to even get out bow hunting. Thankfully I will be heading to MI to hunt ducks with JPT for 4 days later this week. Only one day of work tomorrow then it’s vacation time!

Well the weekend was slow and full of bad luck to say the least. We shot 3 ducks on friday, got brutally denied permission the biggest duck and goose feed I’ve ever seen on saturday, mega freeze out saturday night left us skunked on sunday, and we were finally able to wrap it up with a decent hunt on Monday. Had a great time nonetheless and Oly was able to shoot his first couple divers.

Yeah it was slow weekend that’s for sure. And we didn’t just get denied , we got the door slammed in our face . Other than that it was still a good time. The last day was the best every duck we shot came right into the decoys. Couldn’t have asked for a better hunt. I was able to add 2 new ducks to my list. A bufflehead And redhead. Both hens but they read the script and I folded then. I cant wait to make the trip again. IMG_0090.JPG IMG_0066.JPG

It's too bad none of you guys are closer to me. Have a buddy selling 4 dozen fully flocked Dakota full bodies for $1000. Used once.

My little boy got his first drake today. I’ve been after a drake buff for years!(we don’t get many around here). Needless to say he’s been talking my ear off about it all day long!

I was out yesterday, and knocked down two mallards with the same shot (the second shot) and then got a honker at the very end of legal shooting hours. My pup got both mallards out of the ditch for me, so I was very happy.

Mopped up the old squaws on Lake Huron this morning! 4 man limit!! Not much for puddle ducks here anymore. Got about a week and a half left of season.

Got out to the marsh this Saturday for our first real snow storm. Thought with the weather it would have made for a better day, but all in all it was decent shoot and like always lots of fun! We ended up bagging 4 Atlantic Brant, Drake Mallard, Drake Shoveler, Hen Shoveler, and 2 Hen Hoodies.

I went out with my brother this Saturday for the first time this year. We did ok with 6 ducks total. I'm still very new to duck hunting but am hooked.

4 of us went out again Sunday and did horrible with 1 bird total lol. A lot of factors including nearby people skyblastinf at ducks that we were trying to work. Still a great time.

Haven't killed 1 duck this season. And only shot 1 goose.

Sounds about like my season. Had a good early goose and then I didn't hunt waterfowl since the first weekend in October.

I went out today for the first time sea ducking from a kayak. Any tips on concealment? Several times ducks would decoy, but bail at the last moment just out of range. A few times ducks would land, but another 30 yards past my last decoy. I sit in the kayak up against some marsh, so they don't see me from too far. But up close I get busted. Any advice?

Can you get out of your kayak and sit in the marsh? Another idea would be to camouflage your kayak in someway - my brother did this to his John boat with sticks and branches... it seemed to work ok.

I'm going out on Sunday.... I can't wait
