You guys are killing me. I'm so behind I don't even have brush on my blind. Hopefully I get a teal hunt in on Sunday and maybe finish the day of with an evening honker limit. It's a stretch but not impossible Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I haven't been out yet either. With my schedule right now it would be an evening hunt for me as well. My buddy texted me tonight saying he saw about 50 geese in a partially cut corn field. I asked where because I had a good idea of the spot. And sure enough it where I thought it was. They cut it a couple days ago and the birds just found it. I'm just hoping I can get permission before they leave. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hope you get in there too! Hey I know it didn't work out last time but maybe we can plan a Carlyle lake or Kaskaskia/Mississippi hunt this year. Are you still driving distance to west central Illinois? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm actually up around Madison WI now. I'm always willing to travel for a duck hunt or 2. Might have to go sleep in the truck though lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had trouble finishing birds all morning. Changed things up 100 times but nothing seemed to work well. We still managed to fool a couple though, not too shabby! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nice! Today's video screenshot. Likely going to try that field again tomorrow. Might actually have some help tomorrow! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Went to check out the pond I got permission to hunt today. I wanted to get a better idea of where to setup at and how deep the water is. I got 4 foot off the bank and I was knee deep I muck. So that will make things difficult. Good thing I have a kayak. When I walked up I saw 20 wood ducks and 4 geese using the pond! As if I was wasn't excited enough for duck season to come this just made it that much better that birds are using his pond. September 30th is so close! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you ever pass through St. Louis give me a call. We get sick of shooting wood ducks ......well that was an exaggeration Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Haha I might be feeling the same way with all the wood ducks I've been seeing while I'm scouting. But wood ducks is better than no ducks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've hunted ducks for 27 years. Wood ducks are by far one of the best to eat and a fun bird to shoot. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Hey I'm not not too far either. Maybe he will actually meet up this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Our season is closed this week but opens back up Saturday for ducks and geese. Not sure if i'll go or not. I have a pretty stacked field of pigeons calling my name.
