Yeah went to school with them. Another guy we went to school with had his wheeler, portable, and trailer go through the ice too.

They are just being stupid and risking their lives for a few 18" walleyes.

Fishing report for us: We hammered them again. A group of 8 of us fished all day Saturday and all of us got our limit. Likely won't be back until we can drive out.

Was just curious. Guy with the same name from here a few years older than me that moved away and thought it could possibly be him.

I get nervous on 12"+ of ice so you wouldn't catch me doing any of that crap! Not to mention that if I survived that, my wife would kill me when I got home!

Went on Friday and Saturday. Ice was 4ish inches thick. Friday was an excellent day! Lots of flags and caught my limit of 3 Walleyes (they changed it from 5), Saturday was alright. Had a bunch of flags but only one keeper walleye. At least I got some fish in the freezer. :tu:

Well I messed up... ****s Sporting Goods has everything 25% off online. I was looking at getting a new Vexilar FLX-28 and had it in my cart last night. Go to buy it this morning and they are sold out. Missed out on a hell of a deal.

There were two old boys from Alabama who love to fish, and they wanted to do some ice fishing. They'd heard about it up in Canada, and they took off up there. The lake was frozen nicely. They stopped just before they got to the lake at a little bait shop and got all their tackle. One of them said, "We're going to need an ice pick."

So they got that, and they took off. In about two hours, one of them was back at the shop and said, "We're going to need another dozen ice picks."

Well, the fellow in the shop wanted to ask some questions, but he didn't. He sold him the picks, and the old boy left.

In about an hour, he was back. Said, "We're going to need all the ice picks you've got."

The bait man couldn't stand it any longer. "By the way," he asked, "how are you fellows doing?"

"Not very well at all," he said. "We don't even have the boat in the water yet."

Small ponds are icing over at night but 40 degrees isn’t helping. Starting about the 6th we should be making good ice in Southern WI. I cant wait to get back out there.

Did inventory today on the ice gear and helped my buddy put together his new frabill side step. That thing is going to be sweet to fish out of. I got a new 30” frabill quick tip and medium rod for walleye. The hummingbird is ready to roll as well. This cold front coming in will start making ice and I can’t wait!

After seeing your snap yesterday, I think you need a few more rods!

Haha most of those were not mine. My buddy has 3 of the large frabill cases full. We are ready for pretty much anything.

I have been kicking the idea around about getting back into ice fishing, looking at the cost to get an auger, 2 person portable, heater, vexlar etc I can use miles and cash and go to florida to get my fishing fix itched cheaper and get a tan. I do plan on getting out this winter but it will be as a guest.

All that stuff can be found for decent prices and you can save money by getting a hand auger and a single man shack. I borrowed gear until last year when I bought my own. It wasn’t that bad.
