Went out this weekend and walked about 5 miles on our 40 acres. Didn't find any sheds but did find a lot of activity while walking. None of our trail cams picked up any bucks so its hard to say if their headgear has fallen yet.
Yeah we got about a foot or so. Should definitely help herd up the deer to make it easier to figure out where they are. How about you?
Does anyone know the 3 guys that haven't signed in? looks like the one guy only time posting is to sign up for the contest. Peakrut seams to be on a lot and looks like he runs the bow hunt or die facebook page. Could someone message him on facebook? I would but I'm not on it. The third guy hasent been on since before Christmas. I sent PMs to all three but no response, so not sure if I did it right. If any one else wants to try and PM them, just in case I did something wrong.
I got about 12-18" of snow, hard to tell with all the drifts. I had a good size herd coming in the back yard every night, and now since the snow not a single deer!
I wouldn't worry about Peakrut. He will show up. I will let him know on facebook. I don't know the other two. Tim
Alright guys my bow season ended today! but instead of going after deer one last time I went goose hunting. Had a great day! shot 16 geese out of 10 people in the pit and got my limit after the second flock that came in. Now its nothing but shed hunting from hear on. Monday afternoon will be my first walk if I get done work early. Going to scout in the snow on public land to look for beds for future walks when they start dropping. Never know may find a fresh early drop! Any body else getting out this weekend?
The bucks are still holding here. Still getting a lot of them on camera with head gear attached. Might sneak out to some other areas Saturday for a quick look. Tim
Going out this weekend to meet up with a QDMA member and walk his property, after our walk I am going to spend the day at our family place planning some hinge areas and looking for sheds.
I got out this week to scout for buck beds on public land and found a couple. Now I just got to wait a couple weeks for them to drop and I will be back.
I found my first shed of the year yesterday. The buck dropped it in the Church parking lot in town here. We usually pick up a few sheds in the trees surrounding the church every year. It is only about a 100 yards from my house. Can't beat that !!!! I will get a picture up tonight. Tim
