Dang we still have bucks with antlers here. I think the contest lasts through May but I may be wrong.

Found one yesterday in the first 30 seconds. I had just started walking up the hill through some thick stuff and almost stepped on it. The rest of the land looked awesome but it was mainly thick grasses so I'll have to check it out earlier next year

Found another fire shed. Farmers are burning everything around here so taking advantage of it.

Was really trying to get as close to 40 as possible and found two laying on top of eachother today for numbers 39 and 40. Thought for sure it was a match set but turned out to be different deer. Not sure if someone else found them and left them in this spot but it was pretty tough to get to and seems strange if they did.

Nice find! That is weird that they were laying on top of each other. Maybe the bucks were rubbing the same tree.

I meet a guy this week that I was doing some work for and he said he would take me out to is farm this weekend to look for sheds! He never look for sheds before and wanted to try it and he invited me along. Also he said he would bring me along on a few hunts next year during bow season, so my have a new place to hunt!

Yup all tied up! I'm should be able to find a couple more sheds myself. Been watching a couple bucks and they have dropped. So I just have to go in and find them now.

found two more during lunch break. I had walked by them a month ago but they were hiding in tall grass. I was within 50 feet of them. The farmers burnt it the other day so I went back to see if I missed anything. Glad I did !!

Both are old sheds. The grass is so dry the fire burns pretty fast. Every once in a while the tips of the tines will get burnt a little but usually the sheds take it pretty good and there is no fire damage. The sheds that are in the cattails are the ones that get a little fire damage because it is thicker and there is much more heat when cattails burn then grass.

Im headed out with the guy I meet this week to walk his farm. Hoping a couple sheds will pop up! I will keep you guys posted.

On a side note, do you guys think I should wait to update the score card til the end of the contest? Or do you think it doesn't matter?

No sheds for this weekend, I walked on 2 farms, but he was mostly just showing me the property and not looking for sheds.

I'm out in the mountains this week turkey hunting, we can only hunt til noon here in MD. So I may get out to look for sheds in the afternoons. But these big woods mountain bucks are about impossible to find!

I know how you feel. Never find any where I hunt in the mountains in VA but always find them in the city on lunch breaks
