check bedding and feeding areas. heavily used trails. south facing hills where the deer can sun themselves for warmth. anywhere thick. and just keep walking. don't forget binos they will save you some steps. go where you know where there are deer wintering.

Walk, walk, walk......but know when to go slow. Overcast, drizzly days are a godsend when shed hunting. I hate looking when the sun is high in the sky and shining bright. Feeding is where I concentrate most of my efforts.

Majority of sheds I find are bedding areas or staging areas.

My bedding areas are shag field filled with briers. With small trails running through. Should I be walking all those trails looking on them

yes. just wear chaps if you got them. if not just be tough and get in there. deer love eating briars in the winter months. they are full of nutrients to give them energy. also look in hemlock pines if you have any. deer can lose antlers about anywhere. heck I always look as I'm driving to work in fields as well. you never know.

I went out for a walk before my surgery on Thursday and found one more shed and two more dead heads. Here are all my finds this year so far:

I agree Chevs! When I walked that spot last week he was not there. I also had a pack of yotes at least 4+ run a small herd by me and then the yotes cam to within 25 yards of me as I hid behind a tree. It was my first time seeing this and was shocked at same time.

I found a caress last year just about like that... but could still see the blood in the snow so knew it was damn fresh...... coyote tracks everywhere. The only good thing this year is not many yote tracks seen out shed hunting so far bit take a gun along just incase.....

Good luck! I hope that you all have great luck. I am ready to hit the woods again and might this weekend. My wrist is still wrapped like baby fresh out of the tub in a chilly house! It feels tons better and I have not had pain meds for a couple days now. I don't like taking meds so that makes me feel good.

Thanks TC! After 3 years of dealing with the injury I finally tore through the ligament the rest of the way. My first MRI 3 years ago you could not even see the tear. My MRI a few weeks ago you could see it like a Big Buck in a group of does!

Glad you got it all fixed up and it's feeling good dawg. I went out for a walk after work until dark tonight with my girlfriend and ended up finding an old shed. Got one on the board!
