Went out yesterday for a lil while to check cams, all small bucks and does. Bunch of fox and yote pics, Looks like I'll be busting out the fox pro once we get a coating of snow and try to eliminate a few of them! Also walked the fields and didn't come up with any bone. Still early, but can't help myself.

Good luck on getting some of the yotes. I really enjoy trapping and have happened to connect on a few. Here is my most recent. I'm sure he's ate a fawn or two in his day.

That one is gonna cost me money. My wife is wanting him tanned for the house so I guess I'll have to keep him.

I see that there has been 3 votes for me for captain. I appreciate it and I will be honored to be the captain. Shed hunting is one of my best hobbies I have. I will be doing a lot of walking here after this coming Thursday! I am going in for wrist surgery so I will be off work for at least two weeks. I see a lot of walking in my future!

We need to think of a team name and we will continue with using this thread as our team thread. I will have a admin change the name for us.

Another nice yote! I saw 4 running deer today. To bad I didn't have a gun on me. I am going back out this afternoon with a buddy so we will see what I find. I jumped 4 bucks with full racks. I still think it is early here in Central Illinois.

Jake that is one thing that I have never tried. I have a buddy who has almost given up bowhunting because he enjoys trapping that much better. I do know that I have had more luck finding antlers than shooting them. LOL I refuse to shoot a small buck and the big ones are that much harder to kill. I choked this year with a screw up on a very nice 10 and I am still punching myself in my eye for it. I let him get to close and he heard me draw back. I was hunting the edge of a field and he snuck in and could not draw until he was right under me so I drew back so when he walked out I could shoot him. Wrong choice on my part. He took off running then turned around and looked back to far out. Here he is not even 20 yards from my stand and of course I chose to go duck hunting that day! GGGGRRRRR

That is a great buck for sure. I can see trapping cutting into my hunting time for sure. Its really addicting trying to outsmart coyotes. Its always fun to have a new challenge. My next venture will be hunting with my recurve this year. I think I'm just a glutton for punishment.

nothing wrong with creating new challenges. definitely keeps your interest. I think that is why most guys quit hunting, they just get bored doing the same thing over and over.

What is the trick. I walked 5.2 miles and didn't see anything. I did get to walk up on a shed buck and got within 15 yards. I decided to turn around and leave him alone I believe he thought I didn't know he was there.
