I've always been a huge fan of watching the Olympics and just wanted to see who else watches and what their favorite events are. I know it's too late but do you think they should've dumped Rio and found another place? From the sounds of it, the sewage in the water issues, zika threat, and financial issues are looking like they may destroy the Rio Olympics so hopefully they don't suck. I really enjoy track and field, beach volleyball, swimming, diving, and gymnastics.
I like it but enjoy winter Olympics much more. Favorites are beach volleyball and swimming/diving events. Most track and field is boring to me.
The olympics are always fun to watch, I prefer winter or summer though. The special olympics here in Michigan are always fun to watch, my buddys brother broke the Special Olympic world record for deadlift this year, 660 lbs!
I'm sure watching on TV will be fine. Would hate to be there though. I won't set out to watch any event just play it by ear and watch when I have time. Not a die hard by any stretch.
I love Olympic hockey...and then like curling, bobsled, skeleton, snowboarding, Ski Jumping, Speed skating....volleyball, gymnastics, swimming...
It almost seems like they use things like Zika or the water conditions just to get the Olympics in the new and talked about. If I remember leading up to Sochi there was protests and complaints about gay rights, about them killing stray dogs, Construction delays. I never go in with anything special I want to watch, but there is usually some storyline that gets my attention.
Part of awarding an Olympic bid is to boost a nations economy. I hope that strategy works in Brazil. I went to Brazil in 2001 and it was a rough place.
