Oscar and I arrive Thurs...I'll sleep in Will's backyard, garage or his neighbors (I'm not choosy) Thurs pm. We stop back at the airport Friday pick one more up and then head up to camp.
About 15 miles from The hotel Dave is at. Got in earlier then expected so I'm going to have to wait for them to wake up lol. Will be getting some last minute supplies and will get our tags around 9. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am so blessed to have bought land, but reading this thread is killing me because this trip was cut out of plans due to budget/purchase of land. 2018 is already planned and down tentatively on the September family calendar/planner! Good luck fellas, may every arrow fly true and God's beauty be digested by all!
Huck posted this a couple days back...no one has added. Is there not a bh.com contingent going this year?
I had a baby in mid August so this trip was not in the cards this year.........However words can't describe how Jealous I am. Good Luck to all.!! A big shout out to Will for giving everyone the opportunity!! It is a kind gesture and even though I am unable to attend, I do appreciate the invite.
Tim... I hope Emily had the baby, : ) Congrats on the new daughter. I am sure you will return to Colo and join Huck's gang some fall. I also wish all attending a safe and successful hunt with Huck. I had hoped to be a part of the gang this year but heart health issues got in the way. And I agree... Huck is the man for his kind offering of hosting a Colo elk hunt to anyone desiring a wonderful chance to share a elk camp with good guys & gals.
Folks: I found some Unit 45 hunt statistics and harvest data for archery, muzzle loader, rifle 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th season. Colorado Elk - Unit 45 | Draw Odds Results and Harvest Data | Toprut.com for years 2012-2015. HH in Pa
I appreciate it man I am off leave now but I am going to try and figure out a way to get back out there if not even for a weekend
Just need to make 2 last stops: sundry supplies and pick up one at the airport in a few hours and off we go. Troy is a hoot as is Will. When they are together the laughs are non stop...for now, but it'll be all business in a bit over 12 hrs.
We made it to camp. Looks awesome. Got there just in time to set up before dark. PeterC and I met Paul and his son will. Looking forward to meeting everyone else when they get back.
I'm out with Paul and his son this am. Saw 4 mule deer on the hike in. Paul has a deer tag so we tried to put a couple stalks on them. Saw the first doe about 100yds away on a trail switchback. God did some mighty fine work with this part of his creation...
wl 704: Beautiful photos... thanks for posting. Looking forward to many more if you would be so kind to post. If my ticker(heart) had not been acting up, I had hoped to have a hunting video guy joining me this year to hopefully capture some elk hunting footage. Good Luck to all !
Had this bull walk by yesterday. I was looking for a buck deer but it was cool to watch him. He was all by himself. He smelled like a buck goat. :p
Well we have struck out so far. Dave's friend, Andy has come down with something and is out for a while I'm afraid. We have hunted hard and froze out in the mountain at night and just haven't seen any sign. Unfortunately I am having to leave today so I can be home and tested by Tuesday. I got invited to test/interview for the police department back home. Hate leaving early but I got to catch up with Dave and run around the mountain for a few days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
