Everything on my list has been purchased, have my breakfast snacks and lunches bought, gear is packed, bow is fine tuned, just need a few more things for food and I'm ready to rock!

Crummy video (need a better trailcam I guess) but this is a decent bull. He's running with some cow elk now. Another smaller bull came in an made a wallow. First one at this little mudhole. Season ends here on the 9th. Right about the time things should be getting good.

Tick tock tick tock. How many times is it acceptable to pack and repack bags? I want to make sure I'm not insane yet.

Once you have the contents memorized...you're nearly done :D

I just stuck a 'post it note' on my phone and jot down anything I may need to buy or left to pack (like my havalon;deer season opens here on Saturday so...)

It's the last thing I really need to do short of buying the license once I land.

I did look at the flight schedules though...and seats are still available.

I was gonna call Will tomorrow to see if he, or if he knew somebody who, might be able to pick me up at Eagle Vail (figured it was closer, but has less options) or DIA.

I fly every week, so last minute travel planning doesn't freak me out anymore.

Eagle/ Vail won't be a problem at all. Even Denver is no problem. Several guys will be flying in there.

Well guys, it is definitely getting cold in the Mountains. I woke up to frost (thick ice) on the windshield both Sunday and Monday mornings. Paul Seward heard three bulges, or thinks he heard three bulges around midnight, Saturday morning. The woods were real quite to me. I saw 23 deer in two and a half days of hunting, three were bucks-one was a shooter. I also saw two bull moose and a cow and calf moose. The moose are always a treat to see. I had no elk sightings, but I wasn't hunting in elk spots, so that's no big surprise. However, I talked to two gents from New Mexico who called in a 5x5 bull but failed to make a shot. It rained buckets on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Make sure you bring rain gear! It sucks getting caught miles away from the truck without it!

Denver gives me the most options. Eagle, though close, gave me a choice of only 1 flight in and 1 out.

I have some good and bad news to share. Kodiak Rob Swanson will not make it to camp this year. He has had a bad crash on his bicycle which has crushed his elbow and femur bone just below his hip. He cannot place weight on either for eight to 12 weeks. The good news, doctors predict a 100% recovery...but he is out for this year's hunt. I talked to Rex. Looks like he is still coming unless Rob needs help. Rob's wife is in Washington State attending law school. Rob is in Anchorage without any help...and boy does he need help. Put Rob in your prayers everyone!
