Here ya go Nick.... My 3rd bird of the season. I agree that the 4th arrow had better be on the mark because I sure as h@$$ don't want to wear your flamingo hat !!!!!!! However, I've never shot 4 good arrows in a row since I started hunting, so I'll probably be letting you shoot holes in my lucky barbwire hat !!!!!!
Been a pretty good year. My Kansas bird ... bow kill My youngest daughter's Indiana bird ... crossbow kill. My oldest daughter's Indiana bird ... shotgun kill. My Indiana bird ... bow kill. Friends of my daughters, a brother/sister combo that I took hunting ... shotgun double. The dad of the two youth above that I put on a nice bird ... shotgun kill.
BOOM!!! Bird number two for the year down this morning absolutely incredible hunt and even better video Ill post the video once I'm done editing as of right now Ill leave this teaser of a screenshot. This I think is the most proud bird I've killed since it was in Illinois and self filmed head shot recurve instinctive shooting granted it was at 4 yards lol. 2 tags down and two to go. 8" beard 20# 3/4" spurs. Will post the link when I get it edited and all nifty and cool lol. View attachment 58494 View attachment 58495 View attachment 58496
And #8 on the year is down. I put a buddy of mine on a stubborn bird this morning. It took about 45 minutes for him to close the distance from about 125 yards to 32 yards. Jim dropped the hammer and ended this bird's day.
Got mine at 6:25am...The 11th must be my lucky day because this bird was almost identical in every way including the date and time of my first turkey last year...This one was 17lbs, 3/4 inch spurs, and 2 beards (one 7 1/2" and the other was 8")... In NY you can get 2 bearded turkeys from May 1-31 but not in the same day...The birds have been very uncallable other then answering you but you cant get them to come in...So I have been using my 12 gauge...Although the 1st couple toms would not come in this morning, I was able to call this one in from over 150 yards and I took him at 35 yards...I'll post the video once I edit it... Now the other half of my goal for this year is to get one with a bow which I have been unable to do the past 2 years... CONGRATS to everyone who has gotten a bird already and good luck to everyone on the rest of your season...
Had a rough season this year but it all came together for me the evening before the end of season! 10" beard and 1 1/4" spurs!
Yes 1/3 of the tail is missing...I got way to excited and took of running after him. He was still flopping around when I picked him up and I accidentally grabbed feathers... I found all of them tho, so I plan it glue them back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey all! Check out this great MI turkey hunt I put together from this spring and share! enjoy! Adam Lewis
My luck hasn't been the best this year so I thought I'd shoot this Jake. I must've missed by a millimeter cause that's nothing but feathers. Cool picture though.
No blind, 3 toms came into decoys at 10 yards, drew on them and shot him at 30 yards. 3/4 inch spurs with 10 3/4 beard.
