I had the most fun EVER this Spring Gobbler season! I had SO many "first-time" experiences that the telling would take all day. My time was limited, but I was blessed to call in turkey's every day I was in the field--I called in this guy every day I hunted the farm; however, he was a wary little beastie. He didn't want any part of my decoys, so he was a hard one to get stopped (I need to learn to use mouth calls for next year). I missed him the first day out with my compound as he never really stopped, he would "pause". The next opportunity that came I shot a dandy NAP Gobbler Getter "outline" into one of the straps on my blind...but the third time was a charm with the CAMX Chaos crossbow and I laid him low at 35 yards. Don't know if we'll get out again this season, as we are hunting for a new place to call home and put down some roots, but if we don't get another day in the blind this Spring was AMAZING!!!!

Congrats and great story. Mouth calls can make all the difference. Practice those soft yelps, purrs, and putts.

That's awesome, congrats. My PA season has been very slow. Not much gobbling and the gobblers seem henned up on public land. Or over pressured, I have not decided yet.

    Awesome!

I'm having mixed results this season. I'm on birds, but something always goes wrong (mostly hens :D ).

    Congratulations.

You are one of the few who had success in PA this year. Congratulations!

I ended my season early. Our honeyhole is not even giving us an opportunity. Had a bearded hen second time out, but without the gobblers we usually hear - I passed her up. I'm afraid our population got cut with this brutal winter we had.

That's one bueatiful bird and the memories and trials and tribulations it took to make
it happen. Should be passed on for generations to come. What it really means.
    Teach the children.
    God speed.
What it means, learning, living, life and death.
Most here are sorry you didn't get video or some animated head shot.
A big bump in the holywood ratings for this web site and that's a thing to shout about right?
    Oh yea.
I think it was a great thing that you got a clean kill upon what you set out fore.
I think it was hard earned and well reworded for your efforts to make a clean kill
    and a fair chase. P&Y.

I think more people should read your post than watch TV shows.
And you should freely give up your wisdom on how it happened, just be honest.
    Teach the children.
I say this because I have been givinen free knowalge from Fred Bear and others over the
years and I'm saying this now to you,
    to do the same.

These are the things that make one take up a bow in hand.
    Or not.
