I don't care what anyone says, I want to shoot this bad jackson and see what it's like. They look really slick, should be interesting to see how they compare to everyone else's new line up
I for one am very curious about the backwall on the HTR and also the speed factor with people shooting arrows over 450gr with a short draw length already. The riser somewhat reminds me of the older Monsters, in a way. Can't wait to just shoot one for myself and see.
Looks pretty slick. The Chills with Rock mods are some of the smoothest bows ive shot, so if this thing is running off what is essentially a wheel with the draw force curve of a Chill/Rock Mod, i think it will be a sweet shooter. I also like the harmonic stabilizers located farther back in the riser, should help keep the bow from being top heavy. If only they made one in a longer ATA that went to a 31" draw...
Finally got to watch the video, looks to be a pretty interesting concept. Wouldn't mind shooting one to see how it feels even though I won't switch bows out seeing as how I just bought this Chill R the beginning of the year.
I'm actually wanting to try it out. Curiosity more than anything, as I doubt I will be buying a new bow this year. I will definitely hold judgement until I'm able to shoot one.
I'd definitely like to try out a No Cam bow, I imagine they are probably some of the smoothest bows out there. If I were to ever buy one I could only justify buying the HTR for the price alone compared to the others. I also don't shoot target, and the other No Cam models are too perfectly vertical for my taste. The HTR is a lightweight enough bow for hunting in my opinion (at 4.3lbs it is very close to my current rig), and 330 fps is more than I need for taking down big deer. I'm excited to see the BowhuntOrDie team shooting these bows. I'm sure Justin and Todd will have great reviews for us once they can get their hands on one of these. I have a feeling Mathews will find success with these models, the HTR in particular. It seems like a fantastic system - super smooth draw and pretty good speed in a light bow, with a reasonable base price for a flagship model.
Not much for looks IMO, but i'm not much on Mathews either. At least they still have the Creed in the line up.
So after reading thru there nocam htr specs under feel it says "NO CAM ST™ Technology delivers a radically smooth draw cycle with incredible efficiency. This means that more energy is transferred into the arrow rather than being left in the bow to be experienced as post shot sound and vibration." So does this mean it has more KE and able to launch heavy arrows better speed wise than the solo cam and dual cam bows? Just wondering. Beefie
Yeah, that was my fault. I didn't realize it was the XS till I looked again. The Z2 is the best looking bow in their line up for 2015 to me. I don't like that straight riser look on the no cam bows. I don't have anything against Mathew's. Just think after the Helim theres not been much. I take that back, the regular Creed was nice and had good specs and shot very well and was a awesome looking bow.
I shot one of the HTR's today at the store... Super smooth, pretty fast, and dead in the hand. Not heavy at all, and zero vibration. Perfect.
Not sure what your DL is, but here are the numbers I got yesterday. 28", 85% let off, and 71 lbs with a 470gr arrow. 265 fps. One monkey tail, loop, and peep on the string. Whisker Biscuit rest. SCFox
Good to know, thank you! I have a 27" DL and I shoot a +/-500gr arrow...so this was just one of the concerns I had. Haven't been able to head out to shoot it yet though...hopefully stop by the shop soon to check it out and see for myself. Would like to feel it in all the options for the let off also...seeing what the difference really is between the 85%, 75%, and 65% and differences through the chrono for each...doubt the shop will allow for that but who knows. I still feel they will only improve on this design for the 2016 models and hopefully make them a little faster also.
