So my season is essentially done since a nice work accident caused me to have surgery on my shoulder for the second time in my life. First time was from college baseball. Had surgery the Friday before opening morning of rifle season in WI. Had to do it in order to hopefully be able to draw my Chill back next year bow opener. I will say I am filing for a crossbow waiver but not sure how long it takes or how many opportunities I'll get to go. Now that i have laid my sad little story onto my questions.

The farm that I do the majority of hunting needs some food plots. I know I want to plant some sugar beets and turnips but what would you plant for the early seasons? How would you go about transitioning from your early season plot to your fall plot? I was thinking of clover but I am up for suggestions as I have plenty of time to sit around and think of deer hunting while I do rehab and recover.
