Getting ready to send in for doe and elk today. Got my new QAD rest installed on the bow. Now i have to wait for my Bloodsport arrows to come in so i can get it tuned and shooting again.

Just got the final touches fixed up on my Katera and put up a treestand to practice out of until October 5th.

I'm getting more excited each day for my first hunting season.I've been shooting my bow at least 30-45 minutes a day since March.Getting pretty comfortable with it. I still have to get a treestand and some camo clothes though. I ordered my toxic broadheads yesterday(really excited about those). Also checked on my doe tag application and I was approved for 4b (any tips on spots there would be appreciated)....still wondering why I waited so long to start hunting but hopefully by the time my son and daughters are of age to hunt I will be able to take them out and teach them and make some lifelong memories with them.

It is never too late to start. Hopefully you can make it a family tradition though. Best of luck to you!

ETA; Heck, I just checked the game commission website. 1B is already sold out of doe tags. That's the fastest I've seen in the past couple years!

Recieved my first doe tag yesterday and sent in for the second one today. Now to wait and see if I get an Elk tag. Unlikely, but I can dream.

We put in for Elk tags too. My neighbor got drawn last year. First time in his life, and he's in his 80's. I keep checking status online, but I really really doubt it'll appear as "Approved".

Yeah, I saw that. They have some big thing over it. But it's one of those "routine" things I got to do!
