I just grabbed my plane ticket for Nov 4-11th in southern Ohio. I haven't located any 2014 rut prediction by Alshiemer yet, but figured cannot go wrong with these dates. Just wondering what other hunters are planning as far as hunt dates. I travel app 2,000 miles to get to my destination so have to plan ahead..

I was just thinking about next season and trying to plan a trip somewhere. Was thinking that I might either head out west or wait and see if we do another group hunt out in Ohio or that area again like they did this year.

I would love to plan a self-hunt for black bear this year, just don't know where to start.

I always prefer hunting southern Ohio a little latter in November, usually the third week. Less hunting pressure and the bigger bucks seem to be on their feet cruising. But you can't go wrong being in the woods on everyday of November.

Keeping it simple, hunting the farm I live on in NC then for early november hunting the family farm in southeastern Ohio.

I like the second and third week of November here but those will be good dates every year. I have the best of luck on the 12th every year.....

I'm going to be hunting NE Kentucky from October 31st through November 3rd. Halloween always seems to be the start of a lot of activity and it shouldn't be much different this year. You can't go wrong with the 1st two weeks of November typically either.

I have to hold off on my plans right now. The company I work for was purchase earlier this year and we are waiting to see if our vacation time changes or not. If everything stays as is I will be taking the second full week of Nov off to hunt our place in Indiana. I also take a couple 3 day weekends throughout the season to hunt IL and In. I usually don't plan those until Sept.

Did a little further reading on the lunar predictions, DDH or Outdoor life more or less debunked the theory, this is prob why none have shown up anywhere online this year from Alshiemer. I have to hunt either Nov 1-11 or 13-20, daughter was born on the 12th so was looking for the edge on selecting dates. Guess trial an error will be my guide on date selection, I'm pleased to be heading in 4th-11th.

I don't typically read too much into Alsheimer, but I will admit from what I witnessed last year he nailed it. Almost everyone I talked to spoke of a later than normal rut with less pronounced activity which was spot on with what he called for.

I'll be in West Central Illinois November 2-6.. I too will be hunting with a DIY Outfitter. Unfortunately I think I'll be to early again just like last year. Sure hope I'm wrong.

As of right now just hopefully a trip to southern MO for a hog hunt sometime this spring. Other than that I already live in a place a lot of people spend a lot of money to come hunt whitetails for I'll be stayin here for that.

In the next year or so I'd like to get a hunt set up to go somewhere out west and go after some elk or antelope. Have hard time talking buddies into taggin along though so may haveta go solo.

If everything goes right my time in the whitetail woods will be mostly weekends as I hope to spend a full week chasing elk in the high country

My wife and I will be archery hunting antelope in Wyoming. Then I will concentrate on whitetails on our Missouri farm. Might sneak over to Nebraska for a week. Love hunting there for whitetails.
