My new h& r ultra slug hunter earned it's keep tonight. Smoked a spike through the heart at 75 yds out of a ground blind.
    One shot one kill!
    Pics up tomorrow.

I finally had a hunt go as planned. I shot this buck during the regular gun season with a Knight .50 cal muzzleloader. He grosses a touch over 160". I went in a couple of hours early and made a natural ground blind and it worked great.

Here is my second shotgun buck of the year. I shot this one with my Savage 220 20 gauge slug gun in Iowa.

Lots of great bucks & deer taken this year. I had a good archery season so I have only managed one small doe in gun season. Hope to add a couple more with the flintlock.
