I've got a camo rain coat and a camo rain poncho, but no rain pants. Off to wallyworld after work....
My rain gear isn't camo but it was cheaper and will keep me dry haha. Thanks for the heads up on the rain/snow possibilities. I'm going to have to pack a few more warm clothes haha.
That is an awesome view and picture Matt. Its funny that country that pretty can kick your butt so bad.
I have two sets of rain gear. A set of plum and black frogg toggs and a $50 set of natgear camo. I live in the desert so I have an excuse.
I only have one set but thats all I need. Just about got everything ready. Will finish the burritos tomorrow night. Pack my pickup friday night go over to my buddies get his deep freeze that no longer works that we are taking in the back of my pickup to haul meat home. Load up all his stuff and 3:30 Saturday morning we will be hitting the road to camp. 6 hours later we should be in camp. We will stop in Leadville and pickup a few items like ice, beer, some snacks etc.
My natgear set is untested. The frogg toggs would be a less than ideal backup... but at least I know they work. This was my last set of rain gear. It did not work. At all. Somewhere in Taiwan, some sweatshop worker was laughing... "Ha ha, American hunter... you will be soaked!" (at least it didn't stop me from filling my tag. ) Eventually, I'll buy some good Prois rain gear... Gah, I need a second job to pay for all my hobbies.
I bought a cheap set a few years ago from Wal-Mart. It started raining then turned to snow while we were elk hunting. I got out my cheap rain suit put it on. when I walked it sounded like a herd of elephants in the moutains. Those things were very loud, the pants ripped, and now I have a new set that cost more but will be much better in wet weather.
New limbs r on! And got my mt tarp in the mail today and am putting together my trail mix, I'm almost ready! !
I need help folks. What maps are you downloading for your gps and free perhaps? Spent enough already.I am going to have my lady download it tonight if someone can get back to me. Quicker for me through email [email protected] Thanks Rich
We bought Nat gear stuff to.....camofire???.....seems to be pretty well built....tested it on a spring turkey hunt this year and worked well....pretty light rain though so I wouldn't exactly call it a true test....we shall see!!!!!
