Dan, Looks like you have the basics covered with what your packing. What is your stove? I see the gas but can't make out the stove. I like that you have the radios, cameras, release (or spare), gas, rain gear, etc. I didn't see game bags, or a tarp both of which are very light weight and the tarp can have multiple uses i.e. shelter, put meat on, etc.
The red and black straps is my head lamp. The stove is made by Primus? It's just a cheap one but seems to work great and is very small. I have one game bag right now. How many should I bring? It's kind of under my bag by the radios. That is my back up release. Always carry 2 of them. I will get a small tarp as well. Any other recommendations? I looked up that hip bone thing and it seems awesome. Do they sell them at bass pro?
Oh good deal looks like you have most of it covered. I do recommend a tarp but thats just coming from some one that got stuck on a mountain two days cause of a snow storm. A spare release is a must. Bz_711 bailed me out in 2012 as I dropped mine in camp getting everyone up and things ready to go. I don't know if bass pro sells them I got mine from amazon as PSE doesn't carry them I don't think. I can't think of any other recommendations at this time. If anyone going to camp wants PM me and I'll give you my cell # and you can text or call anything you need. Rather you forget something and realize it on the ride up or need directions to camp, etc.
Sounds good. I'll pm you for sure. More than likely will get lost on the mountain roads haha. I'm used to corn and soybean fields.
still need to pick up a spare release and a tarp and then i should be about done. minus a couple of scent stuff.
Pat, I didn't realize the importance of a spare release until I lost mine in 2012. So I bought a spare 4 finger which isn't close to what I use and tried it a while back I was over 6 inches right. So I'm getting the exact replica or close to what I use now and will have the four finger for a back up back up or to let someone else use as a back up. Tarps are cheap and can have a lot of uses. You don't realize until you need it. Put meat on, quick emergency shelter, put over game in bad weather to finish skinning, or if the worst happens can be fashioned into a gurney (sp) to haul an injured person out on.
Does anyone have any food allergies, allergies, or handicaps, we need to accommodate or be aware of to help with? Pm if needed Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
yeah i was planning on buying the same release as i got. I have a 20x20 tarp and a 40x40 tarp but they wont fold up into my bag lol. i got a pack of game bags so if i use em up i can run to walmart and get some more.
I carry 4 game bags and a 6x6 tarp in one bag and an 8x6 in my other pack. They are just cheap Wal-Mart tarps Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Like a light weight cable saw, a bone saw, or what? Can come in handy for wood, splitting bone, etc. I have never carried one until this year same for hatchet. I will probably split them between the two packs one in each. They are added weight until you need them. Haven't needed one to date but not saying one wouldn't have been handy at different times Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
If you have it you will hate it. If you don't you will miss it. Not a necessity but could come in handy. Do you use a bone saw when dressing deer? Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Sometimes I do sometimes I dont. I'll throw it in just in case. Would hate to miss it if I leave it at home.
Yes sir personal preference you can always leave it in the vehicle if you decide its not needed Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Those getting spare releases, if you shoot wrist release, is your spare a wrist release or thumb release?
I shoot a wrist release and had a thumb release for a spare. When I practiced with my spare I was way left so I'm getting another wrist release. Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
For sure I can see that happening very easily. It's always a good idea to shoot every release you plan on using. Lucky for me my poi didn't noticeably change.
