For those asking about Mule deer-tags-opportunities. I know it's been said you have to apply online prior to April 1st.

As far at opportunity (I have yet to get a deer tag), but each of the last 4 seasons I myself have seen increasing numbers of mule deer. The first two years I saw some, but cannot say I would have had a shot opportunity, although plenty of others did. The last two years we have saw very good numbers of them...many along the main road and 4wd road during first/last light. I also had multiple opportunities last year while elk hunting, twice coming upon decent bucks. I do not expect to see many deer once I'm into the better elk areas as they are very thick, dark timber and rugged...but last year I saw more deer for the first time in these areas also. The only reason I don't get a deer tag is because my days are few at camp and I'm ultra focused on the elk.
Some year very soon I want to get out for opening weekend of high country muleys...already starting to acquire pieces of backcountry gear for a couple overnight spike camps.

I do hope to see some of you all with deer tags as I enjoy any animal being brought into camp...I cannot wait for someone to drag a black bear into camp!

Thanks Matt. I can get an OTC Utah elk tag for $40. ;) But mule deer tags here are by drawing and many residents won't even pull one. With that in mind I may be more interested in a CO muley than the elk. Of course, if I only paid for a mule deer tag... I'd be covered up in elk and that would be both awesome and tear-jerking at the same time.

Of course, the real attraction to Will's camp is to finally meet him and all ya'll.

I'm a real low maintenance camper... 'cept for needing to bathe every so often and being able to go potty in private. :D

A mule deer tag is $364 here I believe for non-residents. You would have a very good chance at getting a deer if you draw a tag.
