The local fly shop had a 20% off sale this spring so I got my setup for about $160. That's rod, reel, line, and some flys. I was surprised to see that line costs like $50 alone.
Hi Mark, yes that Mulie had a massive rack, at one point I honestly thought it was an Elk until I saw its forks! I'm packing my Shakespeare 4ft spinning set up I got from Bass Pro for $60 and then I bought some awesome spinners and boy oh boy do they work 'Martin Panthers'..... I'll be buying some more of them spinners this time.
I think missouri lost my hunters ed card. I never got mine in the mail...time to make some phone calls so that I can buy tags.
Being who i am. I hate paper. Thus when I got my temporary number on a big piece of paper i opted to throw it away thinking i would receive the card. Unfortunately this isn't the first time my habits have screwed me over
I would think that you could call your dnr headquarters and verify some information and they would tell you the number.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=ysIuU-4mNu0 Huntography just posted last year's Elktour Colorado on YOUTUBE in it's entirety, I'm hard to miss, but there is some great footage to get you pumped for the up and coming Elk Camp. Enjoy!
Sorry, this is not Unit45, it was filmed at 4 different Location in Colorado, each hunt was a different Unit.
Dave, I watched your segment and the next...great stuff. Beautiful area you guys were in, you guys were sure into them...man, that makes me want to get out there!
do alot of shots come off your knees or standing? I was just wonder how much practice I need shooting off my knees and if its beneficial to have knee pads.
I'm assuming bugs aren't bad up on the mountain but would it be a good idea to bring my thermacell along just in case?
Never been bothered by bugs up high, so its personal preference, but I do carry a small headnet in a stuffbag(smaller than a pack of cards)
That's what I figured. Here in iowa your asking for trouble not having bug spray or a thermacell that time of year. Thanks for the response.
I went shopping for wool socks today. It's 97 degrees here today, which made the sales clerks look at me like I had lost my damn mind . I'll probably order some this week since no one had any out yet.
The last four days will be fine Chopayne you will have a good time. Dave I watched ya'lls hunt nice video. I really liked all the elk you got into and I really like that camp you had. Looked like an elevated indian wig wam. Button, I bet that was a sight to see. My wife was nice enough to order me a few new pairs from Legendary Whitetail deergear.com Dan I haven't had any problems with bugs but I'll also bring some OFF
2 days left of work and then I'm headed out. Friday morning we will be making the 8 mile trip into our spot to set up for the week. Can't wait! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
