I'm trying to decide if I want to buy a bugle call or not. I know I won't use it much due to not wanting to spook any elk but are they helpful at all?
Is it September yet? I am usually pumped about hunting doves over sunflowers and the deer hunting opener, however this year this elk thing is ruining it.

The only reason I'd say get one is because its great to drive everyone crazy with at camp I don't ever expect to bugle in a bull with mine...but have used occasionally as last resort - or most times use when its quiet and I'm just shooting in the dark hoping to get a response. And once you can do a good one - its fun to rip off a bugle about 100yds from the vehicle when you know a few buddies beat you back and are waiting there for you...
Would be a short drive for you. When my wife and I move to CO next year Elizabeth is where we will be looking to buy. We have family their and in Castle Rock. Elizabeth is a beautiful little town.
Sooner I've got family in Elizabeth nice town can't beleive how much its grown in 10 years. I ran some cows up there last year.

Forecast at Elk Camp: National Weather Service Pretty nice conditions for Aug. I've seen 80's and 20's on my car thermometer while hunting...you just never know. Anxious to see what the conditions are looking like once we get within a couple weeks of camp...
Well, It's official. We're going to be hunting in Unit 14 this year. I'm still hoping to try and swing out sometime while we're out there. Looks to be about a 2 hr drive or so, which is certainly doable.
