Yes good catch Waid I had to pull up the brochure and search to find that. I knew the over the counter with caps has always been that way but we used always just stop in at walmart on the way and get our tags. Dan is correct they send them to you in the mail. The hardest part for me is not losing the stupid thing waiting for the season to start. My way of not losing my license is that I now put all of them in the orange fold up things wal mart provides and keep them in my pack. I currently have in mine a plains deer tag and will add in the next two weeks an archey antelope tag, a left over white tail only deer tag, an elk tag, and a bear tag. So I will be carrying 5 tags on me. Surely my freezer will be full by November I hope.
I called the 800 number. 25 minute wait. She asked for a hunter education number? She ended up putting in my birth date? In the end I got a confirmation number and a colorado cdi (or something number). Total was 611.00. One step closer. :D
Awesome glad it all worked out for you. Did she give you a time frame on when they would send out your tag? I usually get mine with in two weeks. Shoot season starts in like 24 days Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Oh ****!, I live in UKa and don't fancy my chan es of getting it in time or postal loss. Is there a DOW in Boulder?..... I arrive on Thursday and Will is picking me up DIA, so I may be able to get my tag on the Friday. Really glad you pointed that out Waid.
Dave - looks like there are two fairly close to DIA...see map at Colorado Parks & Wildlife - Contact Us Not sure what I'll do - need to check with the group...
One of the main offices is close to DIA. We had to stop by there last year. Somewhere behind the Broncos stadium.
I paid an extra $20 and had it overnighted to me, I figured it was worth getting it sooner in case there were any problems I need to address.
Take it for what it's worth - but I just spoke to the CPW office and he said OTC Elk Archery tags will be sold as usual throughout the entire season at all licensing agents. He said no problem to still get an archery tag on a weekend during season at a Walmart, etc. Sounds like that is for Rifle only that you have to go to CPW office. Now that I think about it - I believe I called about the same thing last year...
I know we have always been able to get them during season in the past but I dont remember seeing it in the brochure like it is now. Ill find out when I go try to get my antelope tag this weekend as season has already begun. Ill call my local office also Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Probably around Noon on Saturday the 20th. Also, Here is email response from CPW about tags: Hello Matt-- Thank you for your email. License agents (Wal Marts, sporting goods stores, etc.) can only sell Archery OTC licenses after the season opens. Another option is to purchase your license online and choose "Pick Up At Agent" as your delivery method and pick your license up when you arrive in Colorado. I hope this helps. If I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact me at any time. Have a great day!!
