So I got everything in. Dry bags, sleeping bag, pad , pillow, water filter, axe , saw , rope , jet boil , utensils, jet boil gas x 2, flint and steel, water bladder (unfilled) pots , knife, basically everything I need for a three night camping trip not including my light fishing pole , and it came in at 24 pounds and didnt need my pack frame. The wife will pack in the mountain house food etc. Pretty proud Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
I'd say that's dang good for all that stuff! Don't forget the camera I'm counting on some pics after your trip...I need another taste of that country before we get back out there for elk camp. Figured you might also bring a lasso to go ahead and tie a bull up so you can tag out on first day of camp
flop...3 of the 4 years I've been to that area have been this same last week of Sept. 2 years the Aspen were in full gold, the 1 year in between those they were green with only a small hint of yellow as we drove home. I think it depends how early/quickly springs gets going that year...
Luckily the wife just got a new canon camera and is really excited to use it on the camping trip. I'm hoping we can get some pictures of some elk. And thats not a bad idea to tie one to a tree so its there when I come back hunting, maybe I could even tie it close to a road so packing it out is easy. Button, my wife hates my moustache especially when I put wax in it and curl it. I told her I would keep it until after elk camp.
I attempt to grow a beard every year for hunting season. My facial hair is the color of scotch tape, so it looks pretty sad....
I understand your pain. That is one thing the men in my family are blessed with great hair. We aren't good looking or too smart but we have good hair. That sounds pretty
My ILBE came in yesterday, a bit salty and sweaty, gonna scrub that down and put it together. Still need to buy my clothes
Sweet throw a picture up when you get chance Im curious what they look like Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
got my sleeping bag in. it rolls up into about the size of maybe 2 footballs or so. once you unroll it, it gets real fluffy. crawled in it and it feels really nice. got it about $100 cheaper than anywhere else ive seen it so I'm happy with it.
When guys are hunting in groups how do you decide who gets to shoot and how big are the groups you go out in?
It all depends on who your with once you get on elk it works best to split up a couple hundred yards up and down the mountain if you get a good shot take it Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
We rip open our shirts and determine who has the most amount of chest hair. That person gets to pack out all the meat
