I didn't realize how bad that picture turned out until I saw it on my computer here and not on my phone. Geez. I'll get a better one this evening.

Thanks for the link Matt I will pick up two. Probably one 25 and one 15.

That's actually exactly what I did, got a 25L and 15L sack, and put them both on my Cabela's pack frame to create my wife's backpacking pack...worked great and everything was safe from Rain and stream crossings in these sacks...

I went a bit overhead and went with kifaru. I imagine all I really need is a backpack to haul out meat, but I should just count on having a small pack to hike/scout around with, then once upon getting an elk, I would put some elk into the small pack, go back to camp and get the big pack right?

Also what game bags are you guys all using? I saw this T.A.G Game bag and thought about buying one.

There should be enough guys you only have to make one trip. Possibly two. I've still never used my pack frame as there has always been enough guys to help pack out but its good to be prepared to make multiple trips.

The game bags I get are cheap bags from walmart called Remington Big Game Dressing Bags they each will handle a quarter and come with four bags. Pillow cases work, garbage bags in pillow cases work, garbage bag inside your pack, basically anything strong enough to hold a quarter.

So you're saying that my spending of $700+ on pack frame will most likely be useless? My bikini frame hasn't gone through yet, im thinking about cancelling it and just getting a tenzing pack

Not quite sure if you meant "Will" as in the person, or wow your partner "will" be glad, or "we'll". But im sure you meant that in general, everyone and anyone will be happy other than myself = )

Oh well, I plan on doing hikes in the future.

Same bags our group has used...just picked them up at Walmart in CO when getting our tags...

2 other things that come to mind that may have already been mentioned:
-chapstick: when it's sunnier and dry - lips can crack easy
-water bladder: we've discussed drinking all day, and no problem just taking packaged water bottles...but with all the money everyone spends, I find a water bladder with bite valve on your shoulder strap to be best for me...can sip all day that way while moving. Mine is 100oz, and on warm days I have emptied it when staying out dawn to dusk.

Good point on the water. I have a 70 oz in my bag and a water filter in case I need more. I have carried multiple water bottles in my pack before and no bladder. You will not drink as much if you go this route as you must stop reach in your pack get your water put it back. With the bladder and bite valve you can be going up a steep grade stop get thirst and take a drink with out even stopping. I really would recommend the water bladder.

I have a badlands day pack and then I also have a Cabelas Alaska series Frame/pack combo. the back pack can come off the frame so one person can wear it while you load the frame down with meat for the other person to carry. or attach them together and one person can carry them both. Oh and it has a rain cover too that folds out of the top to cover up your whole bag if it is raining.

A pack was one thing I kind of cheaped out on. I bought a USMC ILBE pack. It is huge, and was crazy heavy when I got it. I've since trimmed it down a LOT. Removed a lot of unneeded webbing and straps. I've been walking around the woods with about 40 lbs in it and its not bad. Fits me well and is very solid. I just couldn't see dropping $500 for a pack for what could be a one time hunt. I've got less than $50 in this one, and its in like new condition. Not the best for the job by any means, but I'm going to make it work.

Good point button. Maybe I'll make the switch. Where did you get a ruck for so cheap?
