Awesome rattlesnake. Will there be any snakes in the hunting area or will they be going into dens?

I just checked and was successful in drawing my deer tag. However its for the plains deer down here and doesn't start until October 1.

IMO Mule deer are just as fun if not more fun to hunt than Elk.

Woo!!! I drew a tag as well!!!!! Now depending on how funds are, i might skip a elk tag. We are trying to buy a house so responsibilities are getting in the way lol.

The views are worth the trip alone - and especially for any of you that may have never been West or to the Rockies, IMO it's amazing. I love the drive from Denver to camp...gets me pumped everytime!

I never have seen a snake in CO, whether it was summer or fall...

Nice - really hoping to see some Mulies drug into camp! It sure seemed like everyone had some mulies in archery range at one point last year...most I had ever seen.

CO sure is a beautiful state!

Still can't believe you left Illinois for that:)

With Elk being OTC, you can also deer hunt first - if you'd tag one in first couple days - can still pull into town and pick up an elk tag if you'd like...(or just kick it back, fish, site see, tag along with others, help pack elk...you won't be bored!)

Finally got my elk bugle call in the mail today. I went outside to practice a few times. Every dog in the neighborhood is barking now, and my son told me my calling sounded like someone raping a donkey. Guess there is still room for improvement :)

Just got back from another awesome safari in Africa. If you have not considered this hunt, you must! Let's talk about this in camp.
I pulled a deer tag and I know Aussie John did not.
