We get bottled water. Our water for dishes comes from the creek. Some guys have filters in their packs just in case. Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
I always just bring jugged water as well. As a reference - I bring a 5 gallon water container and it has always been enough for to get me 6 days I'm there, usually with a little to spare. That's also hand washing and toothbrush water... My pack has a 100oz bladder I fill each day, and I also throw in a Gatorade or Propel as I like the added flavor during the day, but also to have a small bottle on me if needed. I do have a few iodine tablets in my pack should there ever be an emergency. The first couple years I went, we did push 80 degrees on a couple days, and I did run out of water those two days which surprised me...both times I was already on my walk back at end of day, but it sure made me think a little the first time it happened. I make myself drink all day, the air is so dry I really don't think you can drink too much. And it sure seems like the odds of a headache are better for those not drinking enough fluids (beer doesn't count)
I fill my water bladder up daily and like bz drink water all day. I usually carry a bottle of water also just in case or to wash blood off my hands he I connect. I'm looking at a filtration system but not convinced its necessary. I always have matches and my camp cup if I need to boil water in an emergency. Iodine tablets are probably the best way to go as they are light and take up no space. Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Not for archery season tony...i believe they do allow it during rifle season but I mainly looked for archery regs for my grandfather in law Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Actually I don't know what you have to do to get it but if you have a disability you can archery hunt with a x bow. We have one guy in camp that does. He is from New York but reading through the regs its doesn't state what you have to do to qualify.
Doubtful or most people would qualify. Anyone that would spend a week in a tent hunting mythical elk with a bow in bear country walking miles up and down hills sleeping in below freezing weather we all would qualify Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Haha that'd be a fun thread to read...cheater...slob...blah blah blah.....haters will always hate I know for a fact however that your compound would work very well for elk and is legal to use so I hope you're gonna make it happen Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Still looking REAL good... I am hoping I don't have to ride all the way to Colorado by myself tho....
Sounds like fun to me! You all know how addicted I am to hunting elk in these mountains...but sometimes when I say it out loud (like you did above) and tell others what I'm doing on my week's vacation - they just look at me like - "and how's that fun?"...but everyone I know that went cannot wait to get back... Real depression is pulling away from Elk camp...
Yes sir I was asking a guy the other day if he wanted to attend and that was his response Also my family thinks its really strange that I hunt with a bunch of guys from the internet I barely know. Hell Will and I went to Nebraska and had only talked on here before from being on the same team. Thats how I got into all this. Side note: if you hear dueling banjos don't look back just RUN!!! Only to people that have never had elk at less than twenty yards or stopped to take a nap on a warm day on the side of a mountain or have never been in our elk camp Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
