Colby Thanks for sharing all your photos of the area. I have a few questions ? Whose cabin or home with the log bench were you sitting on ? Huck's ? Is the long narrow lake Homestake reservoir, and did anyone do well fishing the lake or streams in the camp area ? Are the photos taken from the higher elevation ridge line, looking at distant ridges and aspen meadows taken from NO Name Rd. Who makes your tent ? What brand of camo clothing are your wearing ? How did the jet boil do in the higher elevation ? Thanks, HH in Pa
HH, I don't know who owns that cabin I believe its someone that has to do with the old camp Hale place. Its up on resolution mountain. That is homestake reservoir they are still under construction on it.We tried fishing both the lake and the streams with no luck. That view is from Resolution across the backside of it. The next ridge is where we spotted the four elk. The tent is my buddies it is an Alaska Guide brand. Worked awesome. My camo is sitka. The jet boil preformed flawlessly and was nice to make a cup of coffee or heat up a mountain house for a warm meal.
10th Mountain Division Hut: Fowler-Hilliard Hut. Fowler/Hilliard Hut - 10th Mountain Huts and Summit Huts Online Guidebook It was nice to meet some of you in Will's camp. I hope you all made it safely back to your homes and will return to Colorado again to chase wapiti. Will: Thank you for the stories and providing information about CPW. I much appreciate you taking the time to sit and chat with me. I have much to learn. Thanks for giving others the opportunity to experience hunting elk in Colorado. Cheers! -Patricia
I can't thank Will (and company) enough for putting on this epic shindig! I had a great time. The scenery was awesome, great folks, dinner, massive quantities of junk food. I saw some great bucks. Hung out with fun characters. Will is every bit the living legend I expected. I thought Rob would be scary but he was a great hunting partner. Pat was awesome and barely flinched as he let us beat up on his truck. Frogtosser/twerksquatch/Greg.... he's a giant eight year old. A lot of fun, if not quite right... lol. I enjoyed everyone at camp. Accents are amusing. Remember to aim for the tail if you meet up with a wild nauga. There sure are a lot of hippies out there. Buy a small game license. Don't let Greg drag your deer and stay clear when he is dragging. And I still say it's the differential or transfer case. :p
There's just this one bad spot... Oh, and this other bad spot. :D Team Driven's next vehicle? Your blood sugar just went up 100 points just by looking at this picture. 'Merica!!
Camper shell all the way! And I'll 2nd don't let greg drag your deer. Otherwise he will snap it's skull. And I guess greg thought that buck was a nauga by his shot placement Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I'm a 6 year old and It was more lifting then dragging. Watch out pat my deer can still gore you, lol
Sweet. Still cant believe how tall he was. Like a bull elk bred a doe lol Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
I know, he makes the whitetail mounts at the taxidermist look tiny. Gonna have to knock a hole in my ceiling so he can fit. Haha
