I think someone wanted pictures, these don't do it justice. Anyways no luck so far on elk! Been getting up early, trekking up and down the mountainside, and freezing my butt off too with no payoff. Trying to chase after coyotes now too so that I don't leave empty handed.
Great pics... someday, maybe, if I can get the kids out of the house, I could consider a trip like this. Looks like y'all had a blast. ~Bill
Tony, what Matt didn't say...just the day before, he had a very very close encounter with another bull. It was a mere eight yards away and offered nothing but a frontal shot. Matt passed. But he stated it was the best elk encounter he had ever had. To be reward with a nice 5x5...respect! I'm really beginning to think bz_711 is an elk magnet! Word is, the elk are finally starting to talk. I am heading back up tonight with buckets of KFC and cold beer. I hope to lend Albert a hand tomorrow morning. One elk in camp isn't enough!
Woo congrats Matt! We will be back in camp around lunch. Can't wait to see em. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I can't wait to do this....next one is for sure, sans an act of God.... Already have an account started, no children to worry about and 100% spousal support
I am definitely up for the next one, I look forward to hear so more feedback on how things are going.
Hows the weather been treating yall? Tried to look back and see in previous post but didnt see anything. Looks like yall are having a great time anf some good hunts
What pat isn't telling you is that it Is freezing and miserable late night and early morning. I stopped my 4 am wakeup after I got sick of being frozen all day.
Huck... good to hear you are able to return to camp, lead them boys to some nice bulls ! Beer and buckets of chicken ain't bad either. : ) You truly are a good guy ! Cowboy Colby and all ... I am hoping big bulls and cows, come your way !
Awesome bull matt....congrats!!!! Pat and Greg congrats again! Wish we could of stayed longer but some things going on at home forced us to make a decision....family is number one so we chose to head out....it was a discouraging few days of seeing nothing but sign...as much as we were looking forward to a couple more days of tracking them down and trying to connect it is what it is....we thoroughly enjoyed the time we had and being in God's country was truly amazing....we will be back....it was great to meet all of you...what a great group of people....thanks to everyone and especially to Will for putting it all together.....learned a lot and can't wait to return for another shot.....good luck everyone....knock em dead!
11800 feet in elevation after 2 hour trek. No signs yet. About to head east then down south to see if I can get elk.
