Hi everyone, I am very new to compound bows, hunting, and archery altogether. I purchased my first bow and it's the 2014 Bear Archery Attitude. I love it so far and am shooting it with some arrows I already had. My biggest question is what kind of arrows should I be using with this bow. It's set at 50# right now. I don't fully understand the weight per inch thing with arrows and I am unsure as to which arrows/heads to use when practicing. Furthermore, what is the easiest and best way to make the transition between field tips and broad heads without majorly impacting accuracy? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Most arrow companies have charts on their websites telling you what arrow you need for what draw weight as well as how much the arrow weighs. As for switching between field tips and broadheads depending on what type of broad head you are using will determine what you need to do. With mechanicals they fly pretty much just like field points so all you would need to do is use the practice tip that comes with them along with your field points and they should group together. With fixed blades which a lot of guys on here will recommend with that draw weight you would need to tune your bow so that they will fly like field points (there are youtube videos on how to do this). Or just practice with your bow with fix blade broadheads and adjust your sights accordingly. Hope that helps.
That does help, thanks! Also, what does the length of the arrow do exactly. I was told to get 30 inch arrows, but is it absolutely necessary or just a preference?
Your arrow length should match your draw length. Go to a bow shop and have some cut specifically for you
I went to the bear archery website. I could not find any arrow specifications for that bow, or any at all. Also, how does the length impact the shot?
