It was my second year after getting back into bow hunting. I was able to take two does and my first buck ever. So I had a great year.
My season wasn't as full of hunting as I would have likes but, it was a great season none the less. My wife had her first shot at a deer with a bow opening day. Unfortunately, I made a rookie mistake and stopped the deer for her and before she was ready causing her to rush her shot. That resulted in a miss. After that we went out a couple more times together and she had 2 sits by herself. This was a huge step for her considering she doesn't do well in the dark or with heights. Big accomplishment for her and one proud husband. This was the beginning of her journey and obsession to become a better archer. She now is the one who wants to shoot every day. I never have to ask anymore. She even had me outside in the dark with headlights running and shooting to make sure she didn't miss a day of practice two nights ago. I only went out 3 times with my bow by myself. I was able to take a decent buck for the area we hunt and passed on a doe one other sit. So, my personal season was really good considering. We both hunted very little but, enjoyed every single sit. All in all, it was a great season. Even if I hadn't taken a deer this year, the time I was able to spend experiencing the hunts with my wife were nothing short of amazing. Now on to tournament season with her while we wait for our second opening day hunt together. Life is great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got this buck in Ohio And this one in PA Plus 3 more does. However, for as good a season it was with actually killing deer, I spent a LOT of frustrating sits not seeing a deer. Many times I would go 3+ sits without seeing a deer.
First year hunting on the family's new property and I couldn't have asked for a better first year. The first shooter buck to show up on camera ended up being the first deer I would harvest, unfortunately it wasn't with my Mathews. Now time for spring planning and Neighbor management! the last picture were two unfortunates found after gun season, One gut shot and the other unknown.
