I also didn't realize that collapsable stocks make your modern sporting rifle fully automatic. I appreciate what Diane is doing to aware us on our firearms.

She has no clue what she is even talking about. Ohhh lets ban them black scary guns I see in the movies. I like how she said these guns are more technologically advanced than what they previously banned. Can someone please explain how they are any different. You would think that she could at least get her terms correct if she is introducing a bill to ban them. The sliding stock gives you no advantage over a fixed stock. A BUMP stock, on the other hand is a different story, but apparently she doesn't know the difference.

I hate that this lady can sit there and make up all this crap, and has no one there to respond. If shes so sure by her words and her made up crap, the NRA should have been on stand next to her to set the story straight. There should be more of a debate style conference, not just some random old lady who hates guns reading off a bunch of stuff that she made up to other uneducated (on the topic) people who also hate guns. Both sides should be shown, not just one.

It's almost becoming unhealthy for me to watch these imbeciles discuss AR bans and the like. Each time I hear the second amendment and hunting in the same sentence my blood pressure skyrockets. I've never seen a group of suppsidly 'educated' people fail to understand a topic and have something go so far over their head.

If any other amendment was being verbally and physically dissected the way the 2nd is being, I wonder what the response would be from the public.

Yeah thats one of the worse parts of it. She says it will protect hunting and sporting. But what about personal protection?

She also says the guns are sold on the streets. How is banning them going to stop that? Drugs are banned but sold by the millions every day.

She says what, 450 have been killed in the last 8 years by ARs. 450? seriously shes that clueless that she cares about 450 in 8 years when there's thousands, if not millions dying from drugs, alcohol, tobacco, rape, starvation, gang related violence, poor driving, and I can go on and on. 450 deaths in 8 years and she wants to take away a large right of MILLIONS of responsible owners. Thats discussing.

This is supposedly an image of the bill showing the list of guns specified by name in the ban

Yep the bill is a joke.

But it's nothing to stress too much over since it won't get the needed 60 votes in the Senate...if it somehow (but it won't) did make it through the Senate it wouldn't have a prayer making it through the House.

    Everyone take a breath ;)

Did you say the same thing in 94'? Luckily this type around there's not a trifecta of ignorance. In 94' the democrats owned the House, Senate, and White House. Lost 2 of the three in the next election due to that bill.

No I didn't say it then but am now.

There are even a few Democrats in the Senate who will not support the bill for fear of losing the next elections in their rural states. North Dakota (Where I live) Democrat Senator Heidi Heitkamp has an "A" rating with the NRA and is not supporting an assault weapons ban from what i've heard around here. To pass the Senate they would need 5 republican votes even if they got ALL of the Dems (which they won't). The Senate majority leader (a Dem.) didn't even want to bring this bill to a vote since it has no chance to pass the house anyhow.
