Yep-- If we see a trend of an older buck not making minimums then he would get put on the hit list. We have yet to have that happen though... My buck this year was one we wanted out of the mix. He had a narrow spread and had reached his potenial. He was at least 5 years old. He ended up grossing around 134 green.
I respect what you guys are doing bud, keep it up. Granted it's a little more trophy buck driven than mature buck driven but the two go hand in hand in more ways than not! Can't wait to see your 2014 hitlist of bucks!
Wish I had something like this in my area Congrats on doing it right Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
I want in!!!! Great job guys! This just shows what can be accomplished with a good management program.
Thanks for taking the time to put all of this together. I am new to the sport and love seeing these photos and reading these reports. Thanks again and congratulations on a great season!
It takes time and hard work to get there, but its worth the effort when you see it come together like we have this year!
Update- Season ended this past Sunday. Total harvest for all seasons on the lease was 12 bucks and 14 does. 10 bucks and 7 does taken with archery equipment. 2 bucks and 7 does taken with firearms. Pretty balanced numbers. We normally see a 1.5-1 doe to buck ratio on the better farms that we have had for 3-4 years.
Update: Got the Euro of Quad back in time for our annual kick off the new year lease meeting. It was the first time I had laid my hands on the horns and what a great deer he was!
If you can afford it lease the whole farming right's and custom farm the row crops..... (control what's planted, and when they pick and can have them leave whatever u want standing.) Because it's custom for you Sent from my KFTHWI using Tapatalk HD
