Pretty straight forward. If you have any questions, just ask!

All entries will be scored using the NWTF scoring system.
    NWTF Scoring Sheet

Each hunter gets one bird to be used for their team score. Although, in multiple bird states, the hunter shall be allowed to enter their largest bird for the contest.

Only bow kills will be accepted. The hunter must provide a picture of the full turkey, hunter and bow all in the same frame. No exceptions will be taken.

If you aren't able to score your quarry for whatever reason, identify if your bird as a Hen, Bearded Hen, Jake, or Tom, and you can use this table if you're unable to score: Hens 10 points; Bearded Hens 15 points; Jakes 20 points; and Gobblers 30 points.

Hunters must abide by their states specific turkey hunting regulations in order to enter a bird in this contest. This event is purely for fun so there is no reason whatsoever to have any legal issues.

Here we go. Season opens up in panhandle Florida tomorrow. I think my deer contest team was dead last. I hope things turn around this time. First year hunting with a bow and first time turkey hunting. The odds may be against me. Bring it on anyways.

Heckler, is a truck considered a blind. This weekend one was strutting 20 yds from mine.

Does it have to be weighed at a check in station or can we use a 50 lb. fish scale? VA has gone to call in or internet registering for spring gobbler.

That should be ok, just keep it honest and fun. Even if you still had a check in station and weigh in you wouldnt be required to have a pic of scale for verifacation!

Ok...not really sure if I should really sign up. Just started bow hunting in the fall, well hunting in general, and I am sure this is going to be much more difficult than deer. I am taking both bow and gun, just in case I can't get close enough. Obviously you can't report one shot with a gun, but should I sign up in case I do manage to get one with my bow?

Sounds like a good plan to me. I will be doing the same depending on what state I am in and how much time I have to hunt!
