I am just wondering what everything thinks for the 2012 RUT?

My thoughts for prime rut hunts are:

October 25 - November 2 (BEST PRE RUT ACTION) - FULL MOON on October 29
    November 9 - November 12 - NEW MOON on November 13

    What do you guys think?

I think the best rut action will be during Halloween weekend in my neck of the woods. But thats when I think it will just be heating up, I like to hunt during the pre rut the best though.

I scheduled my vacation hunting from November 3 to November 12. I believe you are right on with those predictions.

According to the lunar moon phase plus when perigee hits the two hot weeks I plan on hunting the most is October 13-19 for big pre-rut action....and November 10-16 for the Rut action.

I just try and be in a stand November 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13th. No matter what predictions are out there it is a gaurantee there is going to be some major rut action on these days, every year.

I would say halloween is pre rut where I hunt if not beg. of rut, and Then the two weeks after that are solid. first or second week of oct is good for us to, still catching summer pattern or pre pre rut where grunting starts working on curious bucks.

Not much happens for me until November. 5th through 13th seem to be best.

It seems that in WI the best time to be in the woods in the last couple days of October, and with the moon phase this year it should be pretty good.

The last two weeks of October and the first two weeks of November is prime time here. Usually after a good cold snap after halloween then the bucks go into full swing.

I believe weather plays a big part in determining which days will be the best to hunt during the pre-rut/rut.

In Mass usually happens around mid November. After a few really cold nights. Last year it seemed like the rut never happened. Didn't see the signs of the rut as much in the area I was hunting. Hoping for better things this year!
