NY update this morning was dead with the full moon last night, seen some ok midday movement with a couple does and a fork horn. I am now sitting on a power line right away glassing hoping to see a young buck that I have no plans on shooting...haven't seen him since the second to last day of bow season...no pictures or sighting of him since. I am worried and fear the worst.

Got another doe...had to drop / pick up my father from the doctors so it was an in an out kinda deal. She was a big one 50 yds and did the death roll 70 yds from the truck. :p

Yeah I've gun hunted since I was a kid. I've taken a good bit with a gun. This my first year ever bowhunting though. I'm enjoying it tons more.

Good luck to everyone heading out there today. I won't be able to get out until Friday morning. That will be my last chance with the bow for 2 weeks. On Saturday the slug tossing 12 gauge comes out for 2 weeks as shotgun season is in.

    Be safe out there yall

Been wondering how its been lately. I guess the full moon could result in lower harvest numbers during second shotgun season tomorrow through the weekend. I'll be out but I've never had much luck with full/nearly full moons.

Really starting to doubt my chances on getting a deer in the freezer this year. Going to have to change my ways next year for certain.

Yea I ended up not seeing anything, but I never seem to have much luck hunting mornings. I'm gonna give it a try again this afternoon. I'm hoping to get something this weekend as well, and I'm kinda having some of those doubts creeping in as well ha. The weather changing may get them moving this weekend so hopefully have some luck, good luck to you and to everybody else out in woods this weekend.

I'm going out tomorrow for an evening hunt I hope I get lucky this late in the season I'm looking to put down a doe or buck the closest call I had with a buck was last weekend with a 4 pointer out 30 yards away just never gave me a shot later... early he did but I was seeing if he would move in closer for a cleaner kill. I am very accurate with my bow out to 40 its just that its my first time hunting/ bowhunting so I want it to be clean especially because I'm still trying to calm my nerves from just seeing them within 15 yards let alone try to stay still enough to shoot lol

Live from the stand.. Haven't hunted since last Friday morning. My uncle killed a doe that evening with a rifle. He's been seeing a good bit of deer in the food plot where I'm set up at the end. I know they like to come out about 25 yards from me. So hopin to lay one down now that we've had some cooler weather the last couple days/nights.

Before getting in the stand though, I put out two new cameras that I got on Black Friday. So I'm hoping within the next week or so, I'll have an idea of where I want to carry my climber here soon. Good luck to everyone out today!

You ever see an arrow do this?? Shot at a doe a few min ago. Arrow broke in 4 places in mid air! I got down and There are 4 specs of blood by the piece with the broadhead. But not a spec of blood anywhere on the arrow. I guess I must have just skimmed her underbelly with the edge of my broadhead and that blood must have just come off once the it buried in the dirt.

Brett are your arrows under spined? That's my only guess is that they are under spined and got to cold and when you shot the force just shattered the arrow when it was flexing in flight. Your lucky it didn't break on release or you could be in some pain!!! I'm glad your safe but sorry about the missed opportunity on that deer!!!

Yea.. I really don't know a whole lot about the spine weight and everything but they are Radial X Weave 200s. I know it's what the owner of the local pro shop and his whole family shoot. So I don't know if that's what the problem was or if it could have just been from me shooting these arrows so much that they may have just become weak and that have been the last straw. But yea, I have seen them snap on the shot and I'm sure that does hurt if it goes through your hand. Anyways, good luck to you this afternoon!

I'll be back out there with the shotgun tomorrow, not sure how many hunted the land today but shouldn't have been too many. Hopefully between being the 2nd day and still nearly full moon there will be something on its feet. No selective shooting for me, if the buck of a lifetime is 100yds away and another deer is closer, the lesser of the two is in the crosshairs.

Greetings from about 19 feet up. Set and ready for something to walk by and present a shot. Today is my last chance with the bow for 16 days. Tomorrow starts shotgun season so I'll switch to the Ithaca 12 gauge. Good luck everyone hunting today. Be safe.

All settled in and 12 minutes until legal shooting time. Wow is the moon bright, luckily it wasn't cold enough for a frost. Made for a nice quiet entry. Have a new squirrel nest about 8 feet from my head in the next tree.

8 minutes left now, good luck everyone.
