Been sitting on this field edge for 2hrs. Perfect travel corridor that they seem to like but not today. Looks like the deer are sleeping in for thanksgiving too
Same here. I think its just way to windy out. We have 20 mph winds with gust over 30 Sent from my HTC Hero S

Well I climbed down around 11 sawed off the dead 10 point I found last Sunday. The mock scrape I made had been worked over big time there was new rubs on surrounding trees I am pretty distraught about how this morning unfolded. Every thankgiving for the past 4 years me and my buddy hit the woods this year it was on a sweet public land spot were I have had great success. We get there well before first light I had picked an area Sunday with fresh sign I hadn't been around before it was real thick I had a nice tree picked, but I cut in the woods to early disoriented and confused in the darkness I picked a pine to climb. I get all set up I hear the unmistakable sound of a buck running through the woods and close. He comes pretty much down wind and right behind my stand about 5 yds and starts shaking like he just took a swim across the reservoir (sounded like a dog that just got out of a pool). By this time I am stood up and wondering how big is he? It's still pitch black out I wait for him to pass and I hit my green light on for a spilt second right were the sound was coming from ....boom tank of a buck well outside his ears. He continues to walk when he got far enough away I hit the grunt he turned and slowly started making his way back to me. 15 min later he was on top of me again @ like 10 yds still not enough light I listened slowly walk away. The difference between a kill and a non kill was about 10 mins. When shooting light came and he was well away I hit the horns but got no response. Fast forward an hour I am sitting in my climber scanning thinking what I would do different next time. Let me remind you I'm in a loose bark pine tree. My top half gives out and I slide down the tree like 2 ft and my rear end is sitting on my bottom platform with the top around my ankles. Now I was about 200 yds from my friend, but there was little to no wind. I get a text ....what was that?? I sent him a reply telling an I heard him laugh. I ended up seeing one other deer 4 or 6 point buck @ like 1030. Nothing I could do about today just a timing thing. Here's the buck gonna euro him still not sure how he died. The more I look at the wound the more I think he got gored in the wrong spot. Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk 2
tell me about it......Ive never been close five times to bucks over 120 in a season. BUT that doesnt mean anything if I dont get a shot off.
Clothes washed, gear ready, now which property to hunt. I'll be out there somewhere Fri morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just got settled in not too long ago. In a new climber that I bought on Tuesday. Scouted the area a little on wednesday and found a few fresh scrapes near by but am pretty much hunting blindly here. But it's a cool morning and just nice to be in the woods. Good luck everybody!
