Got to the stand 10 am...30 mins later heres comes a trespasser walking his dogs he saw me about 10 min later and bolted scaring 7 deer in the process. Fast forward three hours here come other people that hunt this only during gun season half expected it, but still. So there is 3 of these clowns today is MD junior hunt yet all three are toting rifles and of course only one looked to be 16 and under. Furthermore, none of them had on blaze orange. Me being me I got down and had words with them. Now I am in a different tree...and they just shot something. Got a feeling that's shot 1 of 10 ill hear this eve

Well I decided to go to some public land I had checked out months ago since I haven't seen any deer the past 3 sits on the private land I hunt. Got here and realized I forgot my harness at the house so instead of going back I said hell with it I'll just ground hunt. Found a pretty good looking spot and put out my estrus sent wicks. About an hour ago a nice 6 point comes up directly behind me at 15 yards, stares at me for about 5mins. I'm nestled up to some blow down trees using them as a back drop so turning around for a shot wasn't gonna happen. He then proceeds to go out and around me 40 yards out. Lmao. Gotta love hunting huh?? Haha anyway that's the first buck I've seen on hoof here in RI so it def had my heart going and has lifted my spirits a good bit. :) have about 1.5 hours of daylight left hopefully he makes his way back around I doubt it though.

Well that 6 point never came back around. Just seeing a buck on hoof has boosted my moral a bit and I can't wait to get back out there tomorrow since I'm off work.

That definitely sucks. Only heard about 10 shots all day on sat up at PB. Can't imagine having 14 go off that close to you. :(

Back at this public land spot that I saw that 6 point at yesterday. Have my harness and am up a tree this time. I definitely like my odds a hell of a lot better now compared to being on the ground like yesterday. :) good luck everyone hunting today. Be safe y'all. And thank you for ur service to all you vets out there. :)
