In the stand and just dropped my grunt call=not good. Debating on whether I should climb down and retrieve it.

That's a bummer. The wind is picking up here in RI. Getting some pretty strong gusts now. :(

Had a spike walk through ...he found himself a doe to harass on the hill side that I didn't know was there.

Ok, retrieved the grunt call and I don't think I spooked anything. I've only seen one deer this morning and I'm not even sure what it was.

Think my beer joke backfired. I slid down this ladder stand like fire pole and dashed into the woods. All I can say is thank goodness I had a pocket full of napkins and I wasn't at my favorite stand.

Needless to say ill be switching stands

Made it to other end of property without knowingly bumping anything. Had planned to move here later, hopefully the morning deer have made it through to the bedding already.

If they're cruising today, I'm in the right spot

Unfreaking believable is my luck!! I swear if I didn't carry a camera I would never be believed.

Standing here being still reading the forums when I hear a branch break. One of those snaps that you know something heavy was responsible. I immediately grab my bow and start to turn. Another snap, then some clashing and banging and I see a flash of white. 2 big bucks fighting about 50 yards away, I just can't see how big they are but wow is my heart racing. Then one of them starts a chainsaw!!!

    WTF?????!!!!!

Some guy steps out and starts cutting some 2-4' shrubs in the power line right of way. My heart stopped, and then sank. I don't know how I didn't hear him pull up, he cut for like 5 minutes and left on a 4 wheeler

I've only seen the 2 deer at different stands, tried rattling but it's so windy not sure anything can hear it. Plenty of day left, I'll be here until I'm tracking something or the sun goes down.

I've been thinking about it, and all the bucks I've shot had come from this small area and on windy days much like today. Just hope yesterday wasn't "my day".

Oh and a little bit ago I realized I left my lunch and snacks on the counter at home instead of putting them in my pack. Lmao oh well that pretty much sucks. But hey I may not need my grunt call my stomach will do it for me haha

I called it a day about an hour ago. 70 degrees put my scent control out the window, but the bugs were miserable. Amazing how many came out of dormancy. I had ants, spiders, flies and even seen a butterfly.

Work texts me and denies my day off Monday so with rain Sunday I may only sit one more morning. Was really looking forward to Monday too, not too happy
