Good luck Krisinte. During the rut, even a small adjustment of 50 yards here or there can make a huge difference in detecting a movement pattern. Find that pattern and you will have locked on to some good movement.

Hunting a new property its not very climber friendly let's just say I'm on a hill side major deer path to the creek but I can't move @ all when they walk down.

Not seeing anything. May need to rethink my strategy for next weekend. Thinking this may not be a good rut spot.

Remyngton, move your stand position right now if you don't have confidence. I would rather have one good hour of hunting that hours of nothing. If you are not hunting again until next weekend then don't worry about busting up the deer if you move late to re-position.

Thats how I got my first deer of the season this year. Sat in the same spot for days and saw nothing. Sat one morning till 9 and decided to move my stand. 5 min after i got it set up, bam! My son decided to bust out the climber this afternoon and set up on the other side of the woods where we never hunt. We shall see....Oh ya, live from the stand. NW Indiana. Good luck guys!

Yeah I figured the same thing and moved it to my third location a little while ago. Think this is gonna be a better spot for rut activity. We'll see how the last hour and a bit till dark goes then I'll be back at it next weekend. At least I get my 3 day weekend back next weekend. Was only able to get today in this weekend because of schedule adjustments from Sandy.

Well didn't see a dang thing all day except a muzzleloader hunter that walked up on me about 50 yards away, saw me waved and turned around and went back the way he came. :( oh well there should be 3 good days of hunting for me next weekend.

Jus had train of deer go across wheat field next to me. Prolly 14 or 15 all together, one was nice shooter at least a 8 from wat could make out. He was chasing does. Seem 2 younger bucks, 6 and small 8, that got potential for next year if they make it through gun season. Pretty excited after 3 year hunting this farm finally seeing some shooters. As of now prolly at least 3 roaming around, not giant but be good first buck bow kills.

We saw nothing this evening. In fact, we haven't seen anything in a week on this property. I think the full moon messed things up for awhile. We did however see some action this morning at an urban spot my buddy took us to. Its weird how differently the deer act from property to property. Go figure....

Up early but got twisted around bakd in the timber on the way in and could not find my tree. Instead of being set up way before dark in a stand I have confdence I had to adjust using a topo map in dark. I just up with the topography and wind in mind with no prior scouting. Ive already had a spike follow the script and come right by....if I get a buck I am going to nickname him the Bermuda Triangle Buck after the way my gps was acting this morning.

Had two bucks chase a doe right under my stand a few minutes before shooting light. Had grunting on both sides of me. They headed off so I hit the bleat can. One of the Bucks, A real tall 8 I have on camera, came back. Stopped at about 60 yards looking for the source. Proceeded to have a stare down with him for the next 30 minutes. Ended up not coming in,but that's why I hunt. What an adrenaline rush! Thinking if I'd had a decoy out, he'd be dead.

Passed on about a 120 at first light. He spent about 20 minutes circling my decoy. I probably should have shot him but I have high hopes for something more mature.

    Heres my setup this morning.
