Canopy has really opened up, can see my pins 8 min. before legal shooting time. Clear skies help and should get the thermals going early.

10:10am is supposed to be prime movement if you buy into the tables.

It's still dark here. I'm hunting where I saw this buck 2 nights ago, too bad Kansas is a one buck state

The woods are beautiful this morning with a fresh blanket of leaves thrown about. Love the smell of a damp fall morning! I've only seen a spike so far.

Here is my view for the morning. Real good morning weather wise, got a frost last night and there is just a very slight breeze from the north.

High winds are about to make me get down, otherwise, would've been a good morning...

5 squirrels, a rabbit and 10 frozen piggies.

Rabbit threw me for a loop, first time seeing one inside the woods.

Beautiful morning here in Kane Co IL! 29 degrees clear skies and a nice hard frost glistening in the sun. No deer sightings.

Just had 3 fawns come in from the east about 8:15. Just wasn't what I'm wanting. They hung around about 15 minutes and started working their way off to the north. Watching them and had 4 come in from the west, 2 buttons a big doe and another doe hanging back that I didn't see. The two buttons walked directly in front of me but I wanted the doe. They went on past and she started coming in, went behind a tree and I drew back. She either caught movement, heard me or scented me because she froze. I stayed drawn back and she started walking back the way she came. I had two hard quartering away ops but shooting rages I didn't want to deflect. She joined up with the doe I didn't see and they crossed the drainage ditch 45yds out and walked off with the two buttons.

I had my video can going and she was right in front of my trail cam. Could have been a pretty cool sequence. Still early though. No bucks yet.

Jus got done watching a good 8 pointer, was only out in the field for about 20-30 mins. He checked a scrape and circled around until couple doe came out, which he paid little attention to, and then walked back off the cut corn field. Looked to be 3 or 4 and never got close enough for shot. Either way pretty exciting, never really seen decent buck like that being on stand.

Just buck roared a small 9 point in. Tried uploading the pic, but photobucket won't upload the right one. Had 5 or 6 does come by at 80 yards after that

Sat in stand for 3 hours saw nothing lowered my bow and took one step down ladder and a deer blew at me about 50 yards away. I almost fell out of the tree. The deer blew about 10 times at me and a buddy about 100 yards away. Pretty crazy never had one blow that much at once. It was pissed.

1/2 way through my sit and no further sightings. A bit too early yet I imagine. Time for a snack and possible stand change.

Just had a doe and doe fawn come in as I was getting ready to switch stands. Why does the wind always swirl at that time? Fawn was nonchalant feeding, mama had to stick her nose in the air. Didn't spook, just switched course and walked away.

May have been part of the 4 from earlier. Throws a wrench in the stand switch.
