Thanks guys! Been looking for 6 hours. Never found arrow. Found good blood all the way to the center of a cut bean field then it just stopped. Gonna get some mc donalds and head back out till sun down. So far ive probably covered about 150 acres.... rite there with you remy! Wish us luck guys. This was a wide 10 point from what I could tell with a huge body. I will be depressed if i loose this one. This is the part of hunting i dont like.....

Well its dark now.. I just got outta the woods. No luck on the other side of the property either. I'm really bummed. Stuck it yesterday morning and spent almost 2 whole days searching with no luck. Throwing the towel in on this doe I feel horrible and am pretty down on myself. Did the whole million different "what ifs" all last night. You know where u do nothing but analyze everything about it and beat urself up saying, what if I did this or what if I did that.. just not very happy but oh well live and learn I guess. :(

Im right there with ya brother. After an exhaustive 12 hour search, I too am done. The last 2 hours of searching in the dark was with my beagle.
We had found a huge chunk of bloody fur and skin and put it on a rag and put her on the trail where we last found blood. She took us on quite a tour of places humans don't fit thru. She kept taking us to FRESH scrapes! Like the deer was probably 10 yards from us watching us FRESH! He had just freshened them up! We came to the conclusion that the buck I shot is still alive and back to business. Which makes sense becouse the blood trail just ended. I think it must have just been a shoulder shot and he bled for awhile and stopped. At least thats my story and im stickin to it. We probably searched at least 200 acres! Gonna let those woods rest for the next week or so and hit it again just in time for the "pre-rut" I have lost deer before but never a trophy buck. This guy was a bruiser! We have pics of him on my sons trail cam. So, a bitter sweet end to another wonderful day in the woods.

Yeah the property I hunt is 115 acres and I searched what had to be every inch of it over 2 days. Even had 3 others with me and did a grid of the property. I ended up jumping her after waiting 3 hours on my original pursuit and had absolutely nothing to go on after that. :( walked the whole property again yesterday by myself to no avail. :( I definitely am taking this as a lesson and getting back on the proverbial horse. I'll be back in the woods to hunt next weekend.

I don't know about "lucky." It's over 70 here and I'm getting roasty...better than work, though.
