    Sure is hot!

Schuls>>>I remember this time last year walking in with only underwear and my clothes hanging on my tree stand, only way to not be drenched by the time i get to my stand. Looks like you got some oak trees around you? Is that what your hunting? If not, whats the strategy?

I got the pics BTW, you just have to click a link... don't know why tho

    Nice Picture....

PastorJim08>>>Like the view, but I don't see any trees mature enough for mast! You hunting a trail or what? I'd love to hear your strategy?

The mature mast trees are just beyond the view of the camera about 50yds. I am sitting on a trail between the bedding area and the acorns. First time I've sat that stand this season. I saw about 25 turkeys but no deer this morning. It rained on and off all morning and was pretty windy.

    Blessings.......Pastorjim

Yeah i see they show up now. Behind me is a beaver pond, trails lead to and ive found several tracks here more than once, plus some acorns around. Just still hot for much movement right now

Back in the stand. Haven't been since Thursday. Same stand I saw two does and 7 bucks. Hopefully the bigger one comes back a couple minutes earlier tonight so I can see to shoot him!! So much foliage where I'm at its too dark to shoot 15 minutes before legal light is gone!! Soon as I sat down in my stand tonight two teenagers came bopping through the woods holding hands across the creek from me. And I took my time coming in to be careful not to spook any deer!! Lol. Good luck everyone

Live from the stand. First time sitting in this stand I put up two weeks ago just off a fresh scrape line.

5:00 and I'm in the tree. I bumped one coming in. No wind hardly at all, about 80°.

I was out there for 1 hour then rain drove me back to my truck and home. I'm a think'n I'll get back out in the morning. I might go to public land so I can use one of my recurves. But I haven't scouted it very much.

No deer tonight. 4 gobblers were making there way toward me and I clicked the release on the string. Ten more feet and I had an open shot...but they flew up to roost 25 yds away for the night!!! 10 more feet to my opening!!! That's my luck. Oh well. Next time!!!

A buck will fall this morning. Woods are dead quiet. Saw a mountain lion on the way into stand. Well, a common house cat but it was huge and ferocious. :)

Got busted on the way in by @ least 1 deer ...snorted 5-7 times hopefully that doesn't ruin my first set on this property.

Had something move through right after I got settled in. Then just had two coyotes chase a yearling across the hill opposite me. Not exactly what I was looking to see.

My strutting Jakes made another appearance and just had 4 does walk by. Just threw out some loud grunts. Might even rattle in a bit

I've been in the tree since 6:30. Shooting light was at 7:00ish. With the rain last night the woods are real quiet. I've got the Beltones on high alert. The wind has changed direction on me twice already. I went to the other end of the property this morning where 3 trails converge. The wait goes on.

Glad I'm not the only one. Don't know what happened to that NW wind that was forecasted.
