Little after 7 had big doe and two fawns come within 20 yards. I drew back and couldn't see my pins at all. Then another one came by right after but didn't even draw my bow because it was too dark.

I was going to call it an uneventful evening, but as I was climbing down I saw someone with a flashlight coming down the ridge from one of the houses straight towards me, then when the beam was about to reach me it disappeared. I was thinking to myself "Oh great, here we go! What in the heck do they want?!".

I was at high alert at this point, while packing up my stand. I heard noises behind me, so I whipped around and lit it up. All I saw was 5 or 6 pairs of eyes looking at me from about 20 yards away, then heard that infamous blowing sound I've heard so much about and white tails running away.

They were just late getting to the party! They must have been bedded between this spot and the other spot I hunted last week (about 400 yards apart). Never did see the person with the light though.

The most dreaded sound in the whitetail woods lol. At least you know you were in the right spot.

A fitting end to the day. First deer I seen was dead in a cut cornfield. Not sure if a neighboring hunter has shot it or possibly EHD. I'll check to see if any remains are there next time out. Seen about 15-20 in various fields on the way back to the main road.

I currently work 4-11hr days a week. So its nice to have the 3 day weekends but the hours prevent me from getting out of work early enough for evening hunts during the week. :( oh well cant have it all I guess. Lol. I am allowed to hunt Sundays though so I do get a good 3 day weekend as long as mother nature sees fit to allow it weather wise. :)

Yeah weather kept me in all last weekend. Can't wait to get back out there this weekend and hopefully get my first bow buck or maybe even another doe. Still tons of freezer room. :)
