Dawg: That's a cyst that had gotten so large that it was blocking her esophagus. I'd watched her try to eat for around an hour or so, and she couldn't even get down a single morsel of food. She'd try to swallow, and choke on every bite. She was emaciated and starving. Her neck was as thin as my wrist, and you could count her vertebrae. That, my friend, was a mercy killing. The cyst was mostly fatty with some black grainy particulates inside. Pretty ugly. In 20 years in the woods, I've never seen anything quite like that. Danno: I knew you'd like that trunk picture. I took some better pics of that deer with a disposable, but they never came out. You'd be surprised how big a deer you can fit in the trunk of a compact car.

This buck is the only one that I have on my work laptop. I was forced to remove pics over the Winter from our IT department 'cause it takes up too much space. This was a 13 pointer harvested on public land only 1.5 days after I had gotten a 9 pointer which was my largest to date. He ended up in the creek behind me which was up to my stomach so I stripped down to my AC/DC shirt and boxer briefs (as you can see from the pic) to pull him out!
Bowtroll, I picked up one of your videos two years ago and really enjoyed it. I live close here in Northern VA and was excited to see some local guys hunting hard. Good work and I look forward to any more videos you put out there in the future.
