Jesus, Schultzy.....do you think I make this stuff up? In the diagram below (the same one you linked, is the point attached to the arrow, regardless of which method you choose? It would have to be, or the balance point would be drastically different. http://archeryreport.com/2010/09/arrow-foc-basics-calculate/
I don't know about Schultzy, but I am pretty sure you are just making this stuff up. I am only saying that because you guys hijacked my thread and now I'm going to pout
I'm looking into it for you and will post any info I can find on them. I'll see if I can get a website for them as well.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding on how Bruce measured his FOC. In method one there measuring the arrows length without the tip/BH Involved which Is how I understood Bruce measured his arrow. In method 2 their measuring the tip/BH Included like I always have. There's a big difference In them methods.
Agreed...the measurements will be different (contingent upon which method you choose). But, a constant (look at the diagrams) is that the tip is in place.
As far as measuring FOC: You can use any method you want but, in general, when talking about FOC the accepted standard is not including tip length. If you (anyone) and your group of friends want to measure some completely new way it will still be an FOC measurement that you and your friends understand and it makes sense to you. If you (once again, anyone) are talking about FOC to me and whole lot of other folks then the standard is, once again, not including the tip length. There is no right way or wrong way, just a way that is more commonly accepted but certainly not the only way.
I think that measuring FOC with tip and knock is a good way since it shows the FOC of the arrow you are actually shooting, but agree that if comparing between different arrow shafts than it makes sense that its measured without tips or nocks as every setup is different.
Most of them just screw in GMMAT, so just unscrew it (that would be counter clockwise on this half of the earth)!!!! Oh man, I crack myself up! Love you guys!
i shoot trad more then comp. and i just have to have screw in tips....they make the world go round =]
