Anyone on here have a 2011 F-250? If so tell me how you like It and what you all got. I'm In need of a truck (hunting rig too) so I talked with a salesman yesterday at the local Ford dealer. Monday I'm going back there with the possibility of ordering one up.

my dad bought one about July... spent some time with it or summer and it is by far the best damn truck I've ever seen... I'm thinkin about trading my 05 F150 in for one in a year or two... amazing machine... his is an XLT crew cab 4x4 off-road with the 6.2L gasser... moderate options... ride quality is amazing and extremely comfy for a heavy duty pickup... lotsa cool gadgets as well... tow's a 40ft camper like its barely there, pulls about the same fuel mileage as my f150 and just chugs along at low rpm, it rarely has to down shift unless you jump on it...

I have an 06 F250 w the 6.0 stroker.... Early year model 6.0s were terrible, then they switched to the 6.4 which was basically a temp engine until they came out w this 6.7...I've heard great things about the new ones, but I'd say as w most engines the first year or two will be when issues surface.

I love the truck though. I'm actually saving money over my f150 in fuel even w the diesel price jack.

When did you pick up the diesel?

Steve, my dad's friend just bought one. Love's the 6.2. Like many have said, though, it's too early to tell. First year models are where the bug's surface.

If I do this It's going to be the 6.2 gas. 385 horse should do the trick just fine. I'm hearing their getting about 17 mpg cruising down the road and about 13 screwing around. Not sure yet If I'm going to go with the XLT or Lariot. We'll see what the cost difference Is.

    Thanks for the reply's everyone.

very difficult to justify the diesel these days... ~$7000 uptick and only pulls about 3-4mpg more on the highway... take you 300,000 on fuel mileage alone to break even and that doesn't include the mandatory synthetic oil changes at 16qts per oil change... its a bummer, i really WANT a diesel but I can't make the numbers work on one unless I just towed big loads all the friggin time... that gasser hauls the mail well though... still rated at like 13-14k lb towing...

just curious but have you considered a Tundra? 5.7L 385hp ect. I love the looks of the new Fords.

I was considering an F-250 but might look at the F-150's with the Ecoboost when they come out. Are you in need of a heavy duty or is it a general pickup for hunting, etc?

Yeah as Seven pointed out, buying new it is pretty hard to justify the diesel vs gasser. They do hold their value longer for resale, but likely not 7000 more. I needed something a little bigger and easier on fuel pulling the equipment I do.

I'd bump up to the Lariat if I was you Schultz. I did (bought used though obviously) and LOVE it...wood grain dash, leather seats, the interior is just nice and that new truck love will take a LOT longer to wear off than if you go with a more stripped down version.

Matt I bought the diesel back in October...realized how much my F150 was worth (sold it for 3K more than I gave after 2.5 years of driving it)....and all but traded even to a truck worth much more. Sold the F150 for book and got the F250 for nearly 9K under book. There are deals to be had on these late model 6.0 powerstrokes because of all the issues with the 03/04 year models everyone is steering clear of them all together. Knock on wood, but so far so good. Only has 75k miles on it when I got it so this truck should last me 4-6 years easily.

That's the reason why I can't justify a diesel either. $7-10K on top of a high end V8? No thanks. I went for a cargo van instead of a truck due to what I haul and wanting to have a place to sleep while racing and hunting.

I've always been a Ford guy, kinda one of those things. They've treated me very well.

Both. This truck will be a wood hauler here and there and will pull a skidsteer around. I'll use It for hauling tires as well for work. The best part though will be the hunting part. Lots of room with these 4 doors to put stuff Inside. I shouldn't get just too excited though, haven't gotten It yet.

The salesman called this morning and said the truck was In. I went and checked It out, WOW!! A few details got to be put on the truck yet so the truck won't be coming home till Tuesday sometime. My heart was pounding when I pulled In the parking lot and saw It sitting there. Pictures coming next week.

    Congrats Steve!!

I was looking at the new f-250's and was pretty impressed. Impressed with how much they were asking.. How much plastic is on the things..... :) I still would love to have one. My Chevy has done okay by me, but I'm not likely to buy another GM product. I'm looking at a Ford, Toyota or Nissan next.

I'm still driving around on two brakes with my '01 HD Silverado. I'm kind of scared to fix it 'em because then something else will break.... and I can almost still stop with just the front brakes. :D
