My buddy bought the Assassin today and I got a chance to shoot it. It was set at 60 lbs and 29 inch draw length. Pros: Drew very smooth, no hand shock, extremely quiet, and forgiving. Cons: couldn't find any. We were shooting a 365 grain arrow at 276fps. I think the chrono at this bow shop might be a little sluggish. By the time we left I was a little jealous of my buddy.
Which shop in Chattanooga has them? Since I live just outside Chattanooga I'd like to stop by the shop and check one out.
I think so too. They were asking 699 for bow with all the accessories. That sounded pretty reasonable to me.
i want one. they fell very nice. havent had a chance to shoot one but they look sweet. i think i am going to buy the destroyer 350 tho instead. ill have to shoot both before i decide tho.
A employee at the proshop I go to was testing one out on thursday. It was a really nice looking bow and with a IBO of 333 or whatever it is it seems like a great bow package. The cams look like a tamed down destroyer cam. The guy shooting it seemed to like it as well.
Wait for the new bowtechs to come out. supposedly they are coming out with a bow with similar stats to the destroyer but a bit quieter and smoother.
It looks like a great bow at a great price look forward to shooting it sometime soon. I do want to shoot the bow they is there top end model when it comes out.
Here's what I wrote on a similar thread. Needed some .40 ammo and was going by the shop today. Was quite happy to find a LH Assassin hanging on the peg, just begging me to take her for a spin. First impression, reminded me of a light little mini 101st Airborne. Similar draw cycle and solid wall. I didn't take the time to adjust it all the way out as it wasn't going to reach my DL anyhow, not without a different mod as the stock mods only go to 30, but I was impressed. I never got to mess much with the Ally/Tribute bows, but I assume its similar to them and the new Treestand camo is pretty nice looking. ***Sidebar, the Destroyer limbs now coming in that is nice, but the 2011's still have that darn logo on them. The new string silencers look frigging cool too. The R.A.K. accessories, weren't cheapies either. My shop had it marked at 569.99. I really they hit it out of the park for a solid hunting bow at an awesome price. I may not own one, but I'd be really surprised if they didn't sell a ton of them.
My Assassin My Assassin is set at 57lbs. 29"DL . it is blasting a 385 gr arrow at 275 fps. I just Robinhooded my first arrow ever in the bull at 20 yds. After one month and about 1000 arrows I totally love this bow! I added limbsavers to the inside of the limbs and that is it.The bow is amazingly quiet. The last time I was this satisfied with a purchase was when I got my Excalibur Vortex Crossbow. I love it when you get home and what you bought is better then you were expecting!
I bought the Assassin in February and absolutely love it....I went to a simulator with my father and he has the Destroyer 340....The simulator shows your FPS and it is really accurate....I have a 29"DL set at 55lbs and my dad has a 29"DL set at 62lbs...I shoot a Carbon Express Terminator 4560 (250grain arrow) and my dad shoots Carbon Express Maxima 350 grain arrow...I was averaging (290fps) and my dad was averaging (310fps)....I had a couple at 300fps....
I got an Assassin Black Ops back in January. I love it. The preloaded package was a great start. I later found that I really want to customize it a bit. The look is phenominal and its super smooth draw. I am a shorter guy but have a 29" at 70lbs. The only bad thing is that I kill arrows constantly. I tried to keep a supply of vanes, but blew through them. It's not the bows fault I started shooting better. Thanks to Select Archery in Bloomington, IL I think I help keep their lights on with all of my accessory sales.
