I was wondering if there is enough elk hunters on BH.com to put together an elk contest? same rules would apply as in the deer contest, with some possible changes.

If your chasing the wapiti this year speak up! Maybe we can get something rolling here?

    So far we have:
    1. BustinHearts
    2. Bails-UK
    3. 130Woodman
    4. JayB22
    5. Pamundso
    6. Greg/ MO

Any Elk would be an achievement , I'd like a Bull , but if a Cow shows her face ( or Broadside :) ) then it's lights out .

Well, we have six guys now. Not a whole lot but enough to break into a couple of teams anyways. Lets see if we can get some more

I should be going on my first elk hunt in September. I have 2 preference points for Colorado so that should gaurantee a tag. I'll know 1 June.

    Me too, I'm in

Cows are a straight 150 points. I think they are harder to kill at times than the bulls (with archery gear).

I agree with that, 150 for cows and gross score for bulls? any bull under 150'' will recieve 150 points

    I'll play.

Why don't we just roll this into the deer contest. We could just multiply the score by a conversion factor like we do for different deer species. Just a thought. First animal killed for the year would score. No reason not to include every antlered species really. It could just be a bowhunting contest.
