    Some updated photos.

I stained the pedestal in Walnut; it really makes the camo stand out, especially from across the room. I'm not sure how I'm going to finish the stain, so, the mount went back to it's final resting place, for now.

    Thanks for looking.

    +1

That is a great looking mount! Like the pedestal too. I think it looks great with the walnut stain. The satin look really makes the mount pop. I would just hit it with some satin varnish and sit back and enjoy it.

That is pretty cool. I've never seen that done before either. I'm getting ready to start the process. Not a fun job but the end result makes it worth it.

    Thanks guys..

I wasn't sure if I wanted to put a "shiny" finish on it, or not. I left it with just the stain, for now, but, will eventually put a finish coat, of some sort, on it.

Yes, the Walnut really made the mount pop. I went back and forth between a few different stain shades, eventually, just said screw it; going with walnut :).

Not many people have a camo-dipped mount. As I said to another member in a PM; people are accustomed to seeing shoulder mounts. I could put this mount in a room with 20 shoulders mounts and this one would attract the most attention (aside from size of antlers), because it is unique.

    I couldn't be more pleased.

    Thanks again, guys.

If any of you are in NJ, or, near North-East NJ, I used Sahanas Taxidermy in Wanaque (Ringwood) NJ.

This guy is awesome. Some taxis seem "worn out" or bored with talking hunting; Charlie loves talking about hunting. He's extremely skilled and passionate about his work. His attention to detail is amazing; I've seen many of his projects, in all phases.

If you're in the reasonable travel distance, please consider him for your next mount. He's a great all-around taxidermist.

I thank you sir, I enjoyed talking to you, next time come a little later in the day and we can BS over a Beer. Getting ready to get going on the NJ Bears that were brought in, 14 to get done, I should be busy til the end of summer. Anyone wishing to have a Camo Euro mount done, I have the Dermistid Beetles on site, you just need to send me the head either skinned or unskinned, I will clean it for you and get it dipped, right now there is about 13-15 different patterns to choose from.
$150.00 for an uncleaned skull, without return shipping. Plaques are extra, the one pictured in the above post will run about $45.00.
If the Skull is cleaned, and ready to "dip", it is $95.00, without return shipping.
Here are some pics of recent ones done.
A plain Euro , these will run $110.00 without the Plaque.
